Blur?

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 by gaddy | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hello, I was wondering...does a skin have to be new and designed for WB6 in order to have blurred frames and start menu? I seem to be able to blur the taskbar of older skins but nothing else.

Thanks

you can control and add blur to any theme (include Windows Frames) even for wb5 skins throw the blur and transparency tab

here 's screen shot and explaning from "Island Dog"

One of the most popular new features of WindowBlinds is the ability to adjust transparency and blur in skins. Selecting the Transparency & Blur button will take you to the screen where you can select the level of transparency for the taskbar, start menu, window frames, and menus. A drop down menu and slider make this very easy, and you can view your changes before applying them in the preview window.

Thanks for the reply. For me, on the majority of skins, the start bar will go transparent but not blurred, as illustrated by my screenshot

First, i ignored your picture becouse i don't know what does it mean ,where's the desktop screen and the icons and the transpernet task bar?.

Second, do you have vista ( basic ) or xp ? , because i heard that transparency is enabled only in vista basic not blur

any way you have to enable "Alwayes Blur the Background" like in the picture

try this first

Sometimes my taskbar won't be blurred either, the solution I've come across is to unlock it, then lock it again (or vice versa).

but if you didn't ignore the picture, maybe you would see what i mean!

Check your image again...it's just a picture of Carmen Electra for some reason, not a desktop screenshot.

when I paste the link in, it tells me: This image does not exist on this server

I wanted to see Carmen

click your print key, open paint or what ever, edit>paste it in, save it, upload to a place like imageshack or photobucket, get the http generated there, paste that in the box when you click the 'insert image' icon here

you can also upload to your personal page here if you have one

you enabled "Always Blur the Background" only in task bar but if you checked the drop down menu you will see other choices ,you have to enable it on all the choices there , instead of setting every one click "Vista-ize me" and you will get blur on taskbar, start menu, window frames, and menus , but make sure that "Always Blur the Background" is enabled in all the choices in the drop down menu

another thing ( not related ) if you want to get the vista look get WhiteFlame (Vista Perfection X) Theme , its better and now with the blur enabled

thanks, but there is no option to blur on menus or start menu.

oh well, some skins have blurred start menu but most are just transparent for me.

whiteflame is nice apart from the common tasks being at the bottom of a folder instead of on the left...i know vista does that but i don't like it! (on the plus side, the start menu blurs on this skin!)

Start menu blurring only works in XP if it has been enabled in the skin itself.

Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on System information.  Copy/paste that info here.
