Tuesday, October 9, 2007 by zabak | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hello,

I am using WB6 on xp. Some how i am not able to see explorer background..even though skin has it. Does any one know how to modify it.. i tried in skin studio 6, i see it there but when i implement that skin, standard background does not change... What do I need to do?

I truly appreciate your help.

THanks

Could you post a screenshot here and also paste the WB System Information text?

Wow, an invisible background would be cool. Might be a good bug to follow up on..........

You need to upload images to a host site and then link here.
I use imageshack.us

The first pic looks like Adamant in XP
The second pic is Vista.  Is it recoloured or was transparency added via the WB config?

transparency was added via the WB conf. I still should be able to see the explorer background, right? I, even, tried to set bg from skin studio 6, but does not work.

is the correct substyle particular to that os being used?
- just a question, I know I sometimes I apply the substyle that is meant for another os and come up with weird results.

I loaded up adamant (non-trans) on both my XP and Vista PCs.  No alteratiosn at all (color, trans, whatever).
I fired up a DX color picker
The background of windows for Explorer in Vista is (237, 237, 237).  In XP it's (255, 255, 255).

Looks like it's working as designed.

Might have to wait for the artist to respond to your note on teh skin.

If your asking about explorer bitmapped backgrounds in XP... they just dont work. In Vista.. they do. Thats why your seeing them in Vista.

unclerob,

Substyle is XP transparent.

Zubaz, do you see gridlined bg in win explorer as a bg?

vstyler, hi.
really bitmapped bg in xp does not work??

Thank you so much for taking time to answer my query.

Zubaz, i will wait to hear from artist to confirm.

Its not the artist. That feature does not work in XP.
