WB 6 Problems
Friday, October 5, 2007 by Francis Maguire | Discussion: WindowBlinds
1. When going into settings in the wbconfig program I select the option to show the icon in the notification tray click on apply changes but the icon does not appear
2. I get a dialog box stating that windows explorer has stopped responding and then it will restart, this happens when I select the Windows Aero skin having applied another one of the supplied skins, it does not occur every time but it is annoying
3. When applying changes I don't always get the 'faded' desktop but I see the windows classic theme being applied and then the selected theme is applied shortly after, again this is happening randomly
4. This may not be a bug but when applying the Windows Aero theme it applies the default colour for window color and appearance, I tend to use the other colours particularly the Graphite and Teal options would it be possible for WB6 to remember what color is selected for the window color and appearance
5. I have the wallpaper changer set to change my wallpaper everytime I log on this is not working as the same wallpaper is shown i.e the last one that I selected manually.
Here is my system info

Francis:
1. When going into settings in the wbconfig program I select the option to show the icon in the notification tray click on apply changes but the icon does not appear
This will only appear after a reboot
2. I get a dialog box stating that windows explorer has stopped responding and then it will restart, this happens when I select the Windows Aero skin having applied another one of the supplied skins, it does not occur every time but it is annoying
We are looking into this.
3. When applying changes I don't always get the 'faded' desktop but I see the windows classic theme being applied and then the selected theme is applied shortly after, again this is happening randomly
When switching from aero you may see a theme change before the faded desktop. This is due to the aero theme being disabled.
4. This may not be a bug but when applying the Windows Aero theme it applies the default colour for window color and appearance, I tend to use the other colours particularly the Graphite and Teal options would it be possible for WB6 to remember what color is selected for the window color and appearance
At the moment it does not store the transparency colour that you had previously used for aero
5. I have the wallpaper changer set to change my wallpaper everytime I log on this is not working as the same wallpaper is shown i.e the last one that I selected manually.
It should be changing. Do you have a WB skin set?

Regarding the tray notification icon, if I have the Aero theme set and reboot it does not appear after the reboot however I downloaded the Adament theme and rebooted, the tray icon appeared, if I then change back to Aero and reboot the icon does not appear.
Would it be possible to store the transparancy colour that you use for Aero and if so can it be implemented in a future build?
As to the wallpaper issue it does not change no matter what type of skin is set
Thanks for the info

I got the same problem. I use WB6 and WindowFX. Now I turned WFX off and going to test it for a few days to be sure if there is not conflict with WB6 and WFX.
If that happen again then it's definitely WB6 problem. If not then there's a conflict between WB6 and WFX (both stardock products
I'll write here in a few days the result.
