WindowBlinds 6 Released!
The Next Generation of WindowBlinds Is Here
Tuesday, October 2, 2007 by Island Dog | Discussion: WinCustomize News
Stardock is pleased to announced the official release of WindowBlinds 6. WindowBlinds is a utility that allows users to change the look and feel of the Windows desktop experience by applying skins to the user interface in both Windows Vista and XP. WindowBlinds can change title bars, push buttons, Start bars, scrollbars and nearly every other element of the Windows user interface.
WindowBlinds 6 adds the ability to have "blurred glass" window borders on Windows XP which allows artists to make skins that could make Windows XP look virtually identical to Windows Vista.
WindowBlinds 6 also adds full support for customizing Microsoft’s new Windows Vista operating system. Everything from Internet Explorer 7 skinning, Sidebar skinning to explorer backgrounds, WindowBlinds 6 skins virtually every element of Windows Vista while making full use of the hardware acceleration features on Windows Vista for maximum performance.
The new version also adds a host of other features including advanced animation support in skins, user-creatable skin sub-styles, a new, easy to use configuration program, user customization options of fonts and colors in skins and much more.
Users who purchased WindowBlinds after February 1, 2007 will receive the update for free. The enhanced registered version is $19.95 or can be purchased as part of Object Desktop, Stardock's flagship suite of desktop enhancement programs which includes IconPackager, DesktopX, ObjectBar, DeskScapes, LogonStudio Vista, and more.
Buy ObjectDesktop (Includes WindowBlinds) - $49.95
Buy WindowBlinds 6 Standalone - $19.95
Requires: Windows XP or Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)

Holy freaking god!!! I don't get it. Aero can skin it, but WB6 can't. I want my $15 back! Seriously Neil, why is this so difficult man?
BTW, your brand spanking new Adamant skin has a menu text cutoff problem when you expand All Programs. (after a certain amount of characters of start items, either folders or icons, gets cut off).

Updated Stardock Central, it kept telling me then:
Error: Attempt: 1 | You must upgrade Stardock Central, in order to install WindowBlinds 6. Version required: 2.47.48, build 159
Build 156 is installed, but Stardock Central didn't offer me the update, which it usually does

Had to install the Download from Stardock.com in order to get it working. That really isn't a smart and good working update and reminds me of the mess M$ keeps bringing up. I expected better from Stardock

koolet22: The skins are now located in a new location.
It is probably C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds on your pc.
Regarding your theme apply issue, how are you applying those themes? Via Wbconfig or via ThemeManager?

If you are running XP you have to change the setting in Windowblinds to use the skin settings for user icon. The XP version is set not to use the icon. The design doesn't call for a user icon.
in other news..
When I download a new skin, The normal bubble that pops up giving you the option to apply the skin doesn't show. This problem started 2 beta versions ago. The icon shows briefly in the tray but no bubble. Obviously not a big deal.
FYI...After a second reboot my WB tray icon came back.
