Bioshock
Still nothing?
Friday, September 21, 2007 by n3xus16 | Discussion: Skinning
I was poking around the WindowsBlinds submissions and was disturbed to find that there are NO submissions on any platform for Bioshock! Is this game really that unpopular?
Anybody working on a Bioshock skin for WBs? If so, RAWK ON.
Much Obliged :3

UMMM the referrals are people who have found/come to this thread thru google, not people trying to refer that you should use google.

Anyway. I am wondering if is currently working on such a project, as I would be glad to to assist any way possible.
Since I don't see any posts here by yours I don't understand why you felt the need to go off the deep end this morning. Words like stupid and idoit don't general get alot of recognition or help here.

1.It would only appeal to a small percentage of the community.
2 I won't advocate Violence, drug use etc... through my own art. Society and our youth is already going down the crapper quickly enough without glorifying these things even further...IMO
I'm sure others will have opposing points of view.

I love this place!
FTR - don't know what Bioshock is either

1. How do you know that a skin based on the game would only appeal to a small percentage? I would certainly be interested.
2. Maybe you should find out more about the game before you categorically state that it promotes "Violence, drug use etc..."
I think skins based on such a huge market as gaming would be great, if possible. I understand there may be copyright issues, etc. but I have seen skins based on comics, and another game, WoW, on here before.
And what is wrong with saying RAWK, not much different than someone calling themselves pictoratus.
I certainly admit the guy kinda lost it on the second post but hey it happens...

The community isn't just those who are active on IRC/Forums/Skinners. Windowblinds has millions of users so I'm not sure how this would only appeal/target a minority. Here's a quality "Gaming" WB that did outstanding
Its to bad you don't see the art in Bioshock. That game is just a graphical masterpiece. I personally disagree with your second statement and am sorry to see that you would never take on a venture as this or similar to this.

Wow what an enlightened statement! Good luck dick....I mean n3xus16

I agree. For a Video game it is visually stunning. I have tried the demo and I love the art-deccoish graphic design.

worst excuse for inappropriate behaviour ever.
Who said that? It's nothing to do with art.
Geez... It's in the parental warning Label on the promtional video...is that categoric enough for ya??
I don't say ANYthing without thoroughly investigating it first.
If ANY of you doubt my feelings towards violence... have a few kids (boys) in this day and age..watch them 24\7 IF you can...
I refer you to this post.. https://forums.wincustomize.com/?aid=163440#1313780
...although I felt this way before this happened. Have some children.. watch them grow.. develop..around this kind of crap.. then tell me to investigate more.
UNTIL then... do not question my motives.

well, the difference is that Halo is pretty much the most popular game of all time.. where as this Bioshock is a newcomer.
Vstyler, I have 2 young boys, and I couldn't agree with your statements more. Gone are the days of harmless cops and robbers games... true violence is everywhere, and you can see the impact it's made on our society.

If YOU'RE not 'uber cool', how can I go on living?

Not trying to excuse the guys behavior just saying that it happens.
As for investigating thoroughly before saying anything first, just because something contains violence, etc. does not mean that it promotes it.
once again As for investigating thoroughly before saying anything first, I have three children, 10 yr old boy, 13, yr old girl and a 20 yr old boy. As far as not caring for real violence I certainly understand it and do care, my oldest son is in the US Marines as part of a Force Recon unit, I worry about violence everyday. The people that he is in contact with probably never played a video game but they are still violent.
But my apologies there is too much drama elsewhere to get worked up over something like skinning or the morals of skinning.
