How to hide the tabs?

Well, title says it all, but, how can make so the tabs don't show until I actually put my mouse there. Call it "a matter of immersion"
Oh and another question: is there a way to make icon within the dock align to the center of it, rather than the left? (the dock is larger than some set of icons because there are more icons in the other tabs.).

Sorry but neither is possible. The tabs always show even if you designate hot spots. Also the icons will always align left. We can put these in as feature requests for you.
