Custom DPI

Running Vista Ultimate 32bit.
I just changed the default DPI (96) to a custom one (110). My eyes aren't what they used to be.
First thing I noticed was that some of the text on the various OD menus were either missing, truncated or squished. I know this has always been the case with many programs from way back but I would have thought by now all programs would allow for a change in DPI.
Secondly, a few of the icons on my dock (happens to be a tabbed dock) are now very small.
Upon investigation I discovered that all these 'small' icons are 32x32. Seems since I changed DPI only icons 48x48 or greater get displayed correctly.

You can avoid this issue by using Windows XP–style DPI scaling for these programs."
I was using XP style when I first reported my problem. I then unticked this option, rebooted and lo and behold OD icons were fine as well as the text. But like it says OD text is very blurry as is other software I have not written for Aero.
So I have to use XP scaling and try to get 48x48 icons for the few that are small.
