Vista or XP

So, I've been thinking real hard the past couple weeks about switching back to XP...I bought my laptop with Vista already on it, but the further and further I go along, the more I realize that there are so many things that I enjoy that are just not yet compatible for Vista and it's getting more and more annoying....
Such as quite a few Video games as well as many Stardock products and features.....Also, with things such as object dock, and all the different stardock products its not like the sidebar on vista is even that great anymore considering you can create products with stardock that look 10X cooler than the standard Vista sidebar
I was just wondering if anyone else has decided to go back to XP from Vista and whether or not they felt they made the right choice...

I'm sticking with Xp til it dies...Vista installed and ran fine,but I hated what they did to the interface.Put simply,XP is so much easier to navigate and looks better with WB.

Though I'm dual booting XP/Vista I very rarely use XP anymore.
Vista is way faster than XP and I find the navigation far easier - though it took some time getting used to.
XP is just so last Tuesday IMO

Yeah Snow...that tree navigation in the Start menu is so much better than flyout menus...NOT!

Dual boot, but mostly vista

Ya know all youze Stardock guys always say how much better Vista is. I sense a little bit of the cozy with Microsoft here. I've talked to some hardcore computer geeks and some of them have gone back to XP. Vista isn't for everyone yet. This is really an outrage and shows how badly Microsoft screwed it up. There is way too much bad mouthing going on about Vista. If it were all it is cracked up to be, according to youze stardock guys, one wouldn't hear about all these negatives from others. When BoXXi and IR are bad mouthing it then I'd say that speaks for itself. As for speed, the only way you get that with Vista is shelling out a lot of bucks. One way or the other. Ya either gotta spend it on upgrades or if ya wanna get a machine with all the bells and whistles it'll cost ya. It's a big load of B.S. if ya ask me! I'm not changing until there is no choice.

Well, it's funny how people only take notice of the negative comments others make about a Microsoft product.....
When someone makes a positive comment, they are biased in one way or another.
My view on Vista has absolutely nothing to do with my commitment with Stardock/Wincustomize.

I can't speak for anybody but myself, but please don't imply I'm recommending or encouraging Vista to be "cozy" with Microsoft. I have documented my gripes and problems with Vista as well, but overall Vista is not as bad as it's made out to be.

mokmn88 since we are only talking Vista vs XP probability says..............you could care less. Most people don't get much help when decideding to upgrade software or sticking with software by aking other poeple. You get opinions and how each software is working for them.
From reading posts here most of the driver problems have been solved by third party upadates. Staying with XP is not bad, if it ain't broke why try and fix it. On the other hand Vista is not just an upgrade, it is a new OS. It does things differently than XP.
Me, I'm to cheap to change.

I find Vista easier to navigate. And looks just as good with WB.
With Vista I rarely have to look at the list of the programs. I open the start menu and type two or three letters of the app I'm looking for and it instantly pops up. I manage to launch apps much faster that way. Looking through the XP "All Programs" menu which quickly grows and glutters just takes too much time.
My own experience is:
The user interface is somewhat changed and you'll have to adapt. However, it didn't take long until I was accustomed to the Vista way and now I really like it. I especially like the improved file navigation. Now I find it very awkward to go back to XP and I've yet been forced to boot into XP to do a task. And I got allot of random apps installed. The only thing that's failed to run has been some very old games.
I've installed Vista on my main computer, but not on my laptop and I don't intend to either.
A piece of advice if you get Vista. Don't upgrade your XP installation, it'll takes HOURS! Back up your data and do a clean installation which is done in about 20min. (Maybe 30 if you include post installation of some drivers)

I have an XP machine running for work purposes, but Vista is my primary use.
