Shaken but not stirred... lucky escape
Friday, July 20, 2007 by Fuzzy Logic | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Yesterday morning I was driving up the Sheffield Parkway (a two lane road going from the city to the motorway) on the inside lane. A large lorry in the outside lane behind me decided to switch to the inside lane... He caught the back end of my car which turned me 90deg, smacked head on into the driver's side and pushed me 100yds down the road.
The road was blocked for an hour and made the news (famous at last). It took the emergency services that long to get me out - they ended up having to cut the roof off...
The car is trashed. With the whole of one side caved in and the roof cut off it looks like a pile of scrap. Don't let anyone criticise Rover cars - that Rover 200 of mine is was one tough little car. I walked out of hospital with just a few bruises and whiplash.
Speaking of injuries, I already have the blood-sucking lawyers all over me...

Last time we're driving from London to Worcester I began taking videos and photos with my mobile because of all the lunatic driving we saw.

Cars are easy to replace.
As for the blood-suckers, I'm not sure how it is over there but never sign a contract that gives them XX%+expenses. Make them absorb expenses so you don't get charged for $500 dollar phone calls and $300 so YOU can stop by and sign a single piece of paper.
My sister-in-law was really banged up a few years back and by the time she was done she didn't have enough to cover the hospital bills but the lawyer walked away with $30,000 in expenses as well as $120,000 of the $300,000 settlement. Originally they were supposed to get 30% but they hid some clause in the contract that said if they "settled" they got 40% She found out later they had NEVER taken a case to trial.

Fuzzy - Very glad you're OK! It's a small miracle you walked away from a crash like that, you're truely blessed
Can you sue lawyers for undue stress & discomfort induced by their constant badgering?
