Glitch in my skin

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 by 2of3 | Discussion: Skinning

I'm almost finished with my first window blind skin and have run into a strange glitch. The dropdown menu for "file" is offsett when using some programs (ms paint, photoshop among others) this doesn't happen with everthing (i.e. firefox or f.ex my pictures, control panel etc.) Here's how it looks:

Have you updated to the latest version of WB 5.51? Previous versions had some problems with Photoshop.

I think it started after I started changing the colors in the classic windows section..... strange, since the only thing you can do is change colors! there isn't any way to screw up the margins - I'm mystified

I do BTW have the newest version of WB

Strange... it happens with skinstudio, but only when I don't have a skin open for editing
no skin open:

Yeah, I got to say... new to me too. A few questions...

1) Does this happen with any other skins?
2) What version of Windowblinds are you using?
3) What else has been 'modified' dealing with the menus? (ie. have you 'fully' skinned all menus?)

A few things you can do in the meantime of getting an answer to 'fix' this...

1) Check the Analyze section (tab in the upper center section) and see what comes up as 'errors'. Anything that comes up there could be possibly causing it. Try fixing as much as you can there and see if that helps. If any 'code' comes up with a "?" in the 'Section' tab (on the right side), usually at the top of this section, you will need to delete it in the 'Code' tab (right clicking and selecting 'Remove attribute' does not work to completely remove the code but will remove the value).
2) Lend the skin out to someone and see if they are experiencing the same thing on thier machine.
3) Make sure you are up-to-date on both WindowBlinds and SkinStudio.
4) If this is happening with other skins as well, then contact Stardock support.

everybody I know has vista!
Check the Analyze section (tab in the upper center section) and see what comes up as 'errors'.

No errors!
I have the newest version of both WB and SS
Does this happen with any other skins?

nope!

I've skinned basically everything, except i.e. icons, Thought maybe it had something to do with left margins someplace

I'll have a look at the code section. Thanks for looking in!

2of3, if you would like you can e-mail me the .wba and I can take a look at it. Not sure exactly what could be causing it and or what I might be able to do to help correct it but at least it can be tested on another computer.
