Skins not showing

Wednesday, July 4, 2007 by jman2134 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hi.

I posted some skins, but some of them don't show up.

Like when I type in their tags in the search bar it doesn't appear, however other skins that I have submitted show up when I search for it.

I have made sure that 'Show on my personal page only' is left unchecked at the submit form.

Why does this happen? How can I fix this?

Thanks

EDIT: This problem is not because it is not approved. I can view the skin if I go to 'My Skins'

names?
were these skins - walls?

unchecking the "only show on my page" doesn't mean it will automatically make it to the main gallery. Some wall uploaded may not get approved for the main gallery, but may be approved for your personal gallery.

it could also mean they are still in moderation - how many they get to moderate = time for approval

did you get an email?

The wallpapers are still in moderation and will remain so until after the holiday. I note they contain a .nfo file, what is that? The zip should only contain .jpg images...

naw that just contains info of what is included.

I do that with all my files. If you open it with notepad you can view the contents.

It just has the following info: File name, file description, release date, installation instructions etc. etc.

No warez here

Then why not just use a .txt file? It's a lot easier.

NFO files are a lot cooler

Better ASCII graphics

The zip should only contain .jpg images...

I think you missed the point

It just has the following info: File name, file description, release date, installation instructions etc. etc.

File name is on the file.

File description is 'visual' anyway [self evident].

Release date = Time stamp.

Installation instructions .....for a wall? ....

Yep. Instructions... for the technically challenged. (Politically correct way of putting it )

So am I allowed to include NFOs?

Cause I did on the ones that show up and the ones that I didn't don't show up. hehe...

There's no issue with including an nfo or txt file....however since warez typically uses nfo with ascii text, etc it sends the 'wrong' message as to the legitimacy of the content.

A bit like wearing a balaclava into a bank...you are likely to be shot first and asked questions later....

yup folks see NFO and debate wether its a legit file or warez in disguise... most folks will pass it over on that premise alone....

Well, they can only see that it has a NFO file after they download it, and seeing the only other file is a .JPEG file, that should be plenty of reassurance

Oh, and to clarify things, Fuzzy Logic said they will remain so until the holiday ends.

What holiday?
