problems with start menu

Monday, July 2, 2007 by ammagamma | Discussion: ObjectDock

Hi everybody!

I'm newbie, so excuse me if my question is not so important...

I've installed object dock and then I've created "StartMenu" launcher. This launcher works only for few clicks then a window compares and says:
"StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect.
Can not show start menu at this time, please try again"

Actually, if I retry later the startmenu works, but after few clicks it doesn't work again!

Can you help me?

Thank you, Francesco.

Francesco, can you please email [email protected] ? I think that they need to be aware of this problem and track it. The forums are great for community support and the tech support staff and developers pop in here but I'd hate for your problem (and possible resolution) to get lost.

Make sure to tell them version of OD, your operating system and any other information you might think useful.

Have you tried changing the start menu prooperties from Classic to regular start menu?

ok, thank you, I'll send this msg to support.

I've already tried to switch the classic startmenu to regular startmenu, but the problem keeps appearing.

greetings, Francesco.

ditto that Francesco. I have had problems also with the start menu funtion from Object Dock. I installed and use a Docklet for that and a few other things now also using SysStats available through Wincustomize.com. Until we hear back from stardock this is a pretty easy fix and solved my problem. good luck.

Same problem here. Adding another start menu docklet didn't help. I have to bring up the start menu with the Windows key on my keyboard (since I have the taskbar hidden).

I've tried presstart 1.3 without success, after that I've searched a solution and now it work with presstart 1.2.

Link: here

So put it somewhere and make a link in your dock.

I'm on Vista (32bits).

Sorry for my bad english ...

We are still working on this issue. Some of it was addressed in the alpha that is available through Impluse if you would like to try it.

http://storage.stardock.com/files/Impulse_setup.exe

Many people have said they found it to be the fix they needed. Keep in mind this is a beta downloading tool, and a alpha build of the software. Use at your own risk.

If you have these persistant troubles I would suggest rolling back to the full release or going forward with this beta.
