Well there are plenty of great skinners out there, but my favorites are...
Windowblinds - Pixelpirate, vstyler, I.R. Brainiac, Mike Bryant, and many more to list.
Icons in general - D. Arnaez, Yangee, Jairo Boudewyn, Jak, cycoced and a couple more.
Docks - Messiah and WebGizmos of course hehe
Cursors - Renzo Riccio(even though I can't use them too much time), lihu1266, Lgp85, JJ. Ying, TYCUS and I gotta include there Artur Berk.
WMP - The Skins Factory and Darkfussion.
That's pretty much all I use

Call me biased but IR Brainiac, Basj, Kitty Malone, Aroche, Messiah1 and gef. have been my choice of authors for a while in their respective fields.
Those aside, some old faves are MikeB, Dani,and Lasse. No one touches those guys and I have total respect for them.

I like everyone's skins. But with windowblinds I still prefer the ' less' bells and whistles. While I enjoy downloading and driving as many wb's as I can, my favourites are the ones I can use 24 hours a day. Which are usually plainer blinds without much color.
MikeB, Apocalypse_67,Z71,Essorant, Brewman are my usual picks for daily blinds. Then for the more " Girly stuff " I like Jazzmjr and Boopish. And the new stuff I use off an on daily.
My favourite Icons were Shades by sleeping dragon..I still use them..but have since started using Cycoced's and skinnits.
Buzzh58 for DX Themes, Walls and RightClick menu's which he is top notch at..
Widgets - just about everyone that makes a widgets...but of course tiggz and martin that made it possible for the rest of us to make widgets.
Walls - thats hard cos I prefer mostly walls that are 'real' and im not fond of abstracts ( although Richard Mohler has changed my mind quite often lately on

I like everyone here... If it was not for everyone , no download sections would be complete. The community here is what makes me like all the skin authors of WinCustomize as a whole. Nice friendly people with great pieces of skinning art to share

Hey, thanks for the nod Quentin....I agree with your list (with the addition of Quentin94, of course)
I'm really only into DX so I couldn't begin to pick faves from the other categories. I think all my DX faves have been listed here already; the legends, the innovators, & the trailblazers.
Some unique DXers: SirSmiley, RabidRobot, CerebroJD, XX, among many others.

My favorite artists list is quite long. So I thought I would list the artists that have inspired me the most.
Tiggz: The very first skin I downloaded from WC was Rubicon, three and half years later it is still one of the best skins. Tiggz's Rubicon was the inspiration for the SummerBreeze theme I made then eventually the SummerBreeze Screen Saver.
Elvee: He answered all of my questions and was very helpful when I first started making themes for ThemeManager. Elvee was the first to show me that the best will take time to help.
adni18: His kind comments and suggestions are always encourging to me.
Hippy: He was the first artist to give me permission to use his work.
Hippy's Ralliart WindowBlinds skin was the inspiration for the RedRacer skins and screen saver.
SK Orginals: I met SK thru the IRC. His Chameleon SysMetrix skins were the main reason I started to make SysMetrix skins. He was always there to answer any question. He even sent some graphics to help me. SK Originals is a true skinner.
