SKinSTudio Start Menu Problem

Sunday, June 3, 2007 by Julezah | Discussion: Skinning

I'm trying to modify a windowblinds skin i have so that the logon buttons appear as they should. its a vista skin and in the bottom bar image the logoff/shutdown button image is there already. The logoff buttons are placed on top but they do not contain any text. SkinStudio appears to insert the text next to the buttons automatically. I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of this text? Also, i can't figure out how to edit the bottom bar to get rid of the logoff buttons as it is a .tga file so paint won't edit it. Any help for either would be so greatly appreciated.
It looks like this:

I want it to look like this:

SkinStudio does not officially support Vista (that is until the next version comes out). My suggestion would be to download a windowblind and check out the vista items in it. A good one to look at would be PixelPirates Adrenaline WWW Link which has a Vista Substyle. In it you will see a section called 'Unsupported' with contains all the elements and images used for Vista. From there you can copy/paste the code needed (under the code tab) for each part. Other then that I don't really know what else you can do.

You wont be able to get rid of the text and have buttons to look like that.

In SKS preferences to need to tell it to convert .tga to .png when opening a .tga file. That way as soon as you tell SKS to open it in Paint it is automatically converted to a .png before being opened in Paint.. when you save it, it will revert to a .tga for use in WB.

Tools > preferences > Editing > Image Editors > Convert TGA files to PNG before using image editors.

I've heard of people having bad experiences with the lspatch.. I would be wary of it.
