PIRATE your desktop!
Have Windows walk the plank with this new suite!
Thursday, May 24, 2007 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News
Transform your entire Windows desktop experience with the new Pirate Premium Suite! This suite, when applied, will change nearly every element of your Windows GUI!
Some users have asked to be "wowed" by Stardock Design and the Pirate suite aims to deliver that WOW.
The suite includes:
- A WindowBlinds visual style (which supports both XP and Windows Vista)
- An icon package that not only has 117 icons but has full Windows Vista icon package support (that means 256x256 sized icons and live folder support!)
- Multiple wallpaper backgrounds
- A CursorXP cursor pack that will work both with the current CursorXP and with the upcoming CursorVista enhanced cursor applying program.
- A new Logon screen
- A boot screen
- ObjectDock background
- A weather, clock calendar, media player gadget!
- And to top it all off, a talking Pirate gadget!
This is definitely one of the best suites ever made. Check out these screenshots below:
NOTE: Requires Theme Manager 2.5 (Object Desktop users use Stardock Central to update).

I have also PM'd Nakor with a few other issues or is it better to ask someone else first? Zubaz or KarmaGirl maybe?Reply #143 Tuesday, May 29, 2007 8:09 AM
I'm OK to pay a little bit for premium suite (that one is as the other premium ones very nice), but at least i'd like eveything in them to work fine and ar first use ...
When everything will be fixed ..
- Talking pirate non Talking
- Media Player gadget giving trouble if you want to change back reader default
- Both bootskins weird
- and perhaps other things i did'nt go on yet ??
Will Someone take care of this at least ?

CursorVista has not been released but the cursors will work with it when it is.
Emailing [email protected] is the best way to be sure to get a response but thanks for thinking of me.

Neophil, I suggest that you contact support for the issues you are having.

Already done for the non talking guy but not fot thr two other trouble ...
I think others may have similar troubles that's why i post them here, there surely not specific to my PC, but to THIS suite ...

I would hate for your problems to go unheard because the support team didn't see this post.

Innocent until proven guilty.
I don't see other posting the issues you're having with the bootskins and media player, and trust me when I say a suite like this is tested thoroughly on several systems before released, so any errors will get caught.
What does the bootskin(s) look like when you boot up? They look perfectly fine on my set up...

hehe...this one was "tested" on many machines around here from its beginning builds.
The media player is also using DXplayer as its base, which has been used in *a lot* of media player gadgets. What is happening when you choose a different media program in the gadget preferences?
The issue with Bootskin may be bootskin itself (funny little free program that it is) and not the skin itself.

I get on all the vertical right border off the screen on about 15 to 20 pixels size a broken part in the back image which is followed by another piece of image ... (well difficult to explain ...
)Nope, it's OK, i get hundreads of bootskins (well maybe not as much ... LoL) running fine with it
That's exactly what i can't do, choosing back another media program (i choose fistly "Winamp", but i'd wanted to view what will be the result if choosing WMP - according to the fact it seem The Talking Pirate may talk if .mp3's are readen by default by WMP as some guys told - , and i can't do that)

Winamp is my default and I have no problems getting the blighter to talk.
I'm at work so I haven't tried yet but, just for clarification, do I use the original link to download or is there some other method?

The original *should* work. However, you may want to get a link from the lookup at: www.stardock.com/support just to make sure you have a good link.

Are you saying that you can't get to preferences, or are you saying that your selection doesn't stick once you choose it?
Reply #153 Tuesday, May 29, 2007 11:26 AM
I got to preferences once, then choose "Winamp" (and it loaded winamp well), but now i can't get anymore to preferences to choose another Program Reader ..

Do I need to put their folders somewhere in particular? because at the moment I just double click on the gadget in for example the calendar gadget folder,it appears on my desktop then I set it to start with windows and it disappears.Any ideas? please.

Just thought I'd mention that the update seems to have fixed the problem for me.

I have huge problems with it under vista (and am choosing the vista themes provided). Window bordered etc are pure black and are not textured like they are in the preview. The start icon is barely visible and does not have the roundedness as the preview does, it is sort of square black with a very feint/hard. The preview on second thoughts shows exactly the same. I have mailed support, but get the mail bounced back (as I always do for some reason) So now I have three problems, IP that does not activate (even though I renewed my OD sub in April, this suite, and the collage dream that quits to a black screen after 10mins) I hope someone can address at least the issue with this suite? I have I assume the newest version of the file as I only purchased it around 30mins ago.

As a user, I'd be thinking along the lines of how many people are experiencing the same problem you are. If several (or a least a couple others) people were reporting these problems with the suite, I'm fairly sure it would be a "Problem with the suite" but as your the only one I've seen reporting your particular ailments, I rather think you might look to your computer setup/condition/installation first.
Your IP & Dream problems may have been reported elsewhere, I'm not sure one way or the other.

All kidding aside I did notice in installing the suite that first of all you included additional elements with the gadgets, such as, graphic png files (thank you) and new plugins. A question, however, has arisen: What do I do with the new plugins? Do I need to install them in my DesktopX pluging folder? How about my Object Bar plugins folder? Any expert guidance on this would be appreciated. Thanks pixel pirate! I'm completely Pirated and skinned right.
