PIRATE your desktop!

Have Windows walk the plank with this new suite!

Thursday, May 24, 2007 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Transform your entire Windows desktop experience with the new Pirate Premium Suite! This suite, when applied, will change nearly every element of your Windows GUI!

Some users have asked to be "wowed" by Stardock Design and the Pirate suite aims to deliver that WOW.

The suite includes:

  • A WindowBlinds visual style (which supports both XP and Windows Vista)
  • An icon package that not only has 117 icons but has full Windows Vista icon package support (that means 256x256 sized icons and live folder support!)
  • Multiple wallpaper backgrounds
  • A CursorXP cursor pack that will work both with the current CursorXP and with the upcoming CursorVista enhanced cursor applying program.
  • A new Logon screen
  • A boot screen
  • ObjectDock background
  • A weather, clock calendar, media player gadget!
  • And to top it all off, a talking Pirate gadget!

This is definitely one of the best suites ever made. Check out these screenshots below:

Saw the server issues earlier. Glad to hear they're fixed (or seem to be).

Yea, with this suite being 60+ megabytes, we need to do a whole different set of calculations on hosting.  It's a long way from the good old days.

I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to.

You will need ThemeManager to load the .suite file (in addition to other applications for the different elements detailed in the System Requirements section). To customize which elements of the suite apply (if you prefer not to use only specific elements at a time),

  1. Select the Pirate suite from within ThemeManager
  2. Click the Apply button
  3. Follow any prompts as to whether you have certain components required
  4. Click the Advanced button
  5. Enable/Disable suite elements here
  6. Click Yes to apply the selected elements

I too get the little gap near the end of the taskbar, but only when I use "hide inactive icons."

I am using Windows Vista, 1280 x 1024, SLI 2 x 756 NVida GeForce 8800GTX.

I love the suite, terrific work at a great price.

Got an issue. Seems to be a gap near the end of the taskbar.

PixelPirate was right on it and gave us a fix this morning.  We weren't able to reproduce it, but he thinks he got it fixed, anyway.  Once we test it, we will put a new version up of the suite.

Did you request a new link?  We had to change the way downloads were handled, so your old link won't work.

Easiest way is to use dos.  Open a command prompt (it's in accessories, or type cmd in "run" on the right side of the start menu) and type in: ren c:\pirate.suite pirate.zip

That is assuming that you have it on the root of c:.  If you have it in a different location, then you will need to change the directory.  If you have never used dos and don't know how to change the directory, you can first move the suite (drag and drop) into the root of c: (just drop it in the main folder) then use the command above.

When you apply the suite, there is an "advanced" button on the right.  If you click that, it will allow you to add or delete things to load, and it also has the wallpaper options at the bottom.

Neophil, I sent you an email with the new download link.  I also tested it before emailing to make sure it was good.

Before I run into same problem I did with last premium I bought last week or so...is this download on a server that supports " Resume " its quite a big download for me on dial up..and last time you fixed the problem ( within minutes I might add thanks to Jenny )
So I just want to save myself from being a pain this time..

Fairyy, it is a direct download, so it *should* support resume.  That is a mighty big file to download over dial up, though.  If you want to get it, I can see if we can break it up for you since there is the suite and then "extras".  The person that can help me with that isn't in for an hour or so, though.  But, if you can't get it after purchase, we can set something up for you (or slap it on a CD and mail it as a last resort).
