Cursor XP/ Cursor Vista

Does anybody know when cursor vista will be release? Month or day? Also, once cursor vista is release can we use existing cursors that was made for cursor XP?

Not all Vista user's can use CursorXP due to the fact that in some case's there are security settings with Vista. The which block the use of the program being written properly to the regs. If you have Vista Ultimate and know how to include programs to your group policy? Then there is no problems. This is not always the case with other Vista versions... thus with say Home Premium version it will sometimes work and in other case's it will not. To correct this you have to write your own permissions and policy in security settings for almost every file atleast once. Meaning upon install you can write these permissions and [it is less to do] if you do this on a install with as less files that will need to be changed for permissions. Once the permissions are written and in place. Then anything else will assume the same permissions when they are added to the program or folder of the program.
This is very tiresome and can be hard for some who do not fully understand group policy and/or permissions completely. Completely meaning also that the system has a set of it's own policy's to follow and will look at what is written to see if it complies.
In most case's with Vista Home Premium - the best way is to just turn off the UAC and not use it if plan to use CursorXP. This is needed to be done if you also have more than one user and plan to have them use CursorXP also. Otherwise written permissions will have to be made for all files for each user account.
Easy solution is to turn off UAC and hope it allows [it-being the system] you to have control of CursorXP.
This is about the only solution until the new Cursor Vista is released.

Good luck and no date has been set for a release of Cursor Vista as yet. But I feel it will and should be included with the full release of Object Desktop 2008. [hopefully]

Hi Everyone!

I have a Dell Desktop that runs XP Home, but I just got a Toshiba Laptop that runs Vista Home Premium. I would LOVE to run my CursorXP-Pro on my Laptop (as well as all of my other Stardock stuff), but I don't know how the heck to do the following:

1. I'm the ONLY human being who uses my Laptop; however it INSISTS on making me just
about jump through hoops to let it know that I'm the Administrator before I can do
ANYTHING!!!! GRRRRRR! Does anyone know how to let the Laptop know that there is no
one else who will be using this PC?? (My husband uses my Desktop....he doesn't
even want to LOOK at my Laptop because it's so fussy)! Is there any adjustment that
can be made to let Vista Home Premium know that the user (Me) is the same as the
Administrator and always will be??

2. I have dozens of cursors installed on my Desktop (XP-Home), and I'd like to know if
there's a way to transfer them to my Laptop (with Vista Home Premium as the OS).
Since many of you have success using CursorXP-Pro on Vista HP, how do I transfer my
favorite cursors?? I have PLENTY of RAM, so I'm hoping this is possible.

3. Am I allowed to use all of my Stardock purchases on my Laptop as well as on my
Desktop, or do I need to adjust my membership so that I can use everything on BOTH
PCs??

I'm sorry to ask such silly questions, but I'm still quite new at all of this stuff, plus I'm self-taught, so I don't know all of the technical stuff very well yet.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions that are posted to try to teach me how to do what I need to do to be able to enjoy my many Stardock acquisitions on BOTH of my PCs.

Copy the Themes directory on you XP PC to the matching directory on Vista. (C:\Program Files\Stardock\CursorXP\Themes)

As long as you are only using one at a time you are good.
