Diet? For Valen's sake...
Monday, May 7, 2007 by Fuzzy Logic | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
This is a nightmare. I'm on a diet and I haven't had any chocolate for a week, A WHOLE WEEK! I'm nearly crawling up the wall. What should I do?
Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

Here's why I'll never understand women. Lucy was the one who said I should go on a diet, yet yesterday she brought me a 250g bar of chocolate...
One of life's mysteries is how the female brain works

or perhaps testing your resolve!.......a bit sneaky.........
or deliberate sabotage to sound out your level of diet commitment.......
or maybe just plain feeling a little guilty about being forward in front of everyone in the first place?.......
multiple choice.......or maybe all of them?......don't see what's so confusing about us......it's easy.....say thank you and just eat the bloody chocolate......you know you wanna.....

Probably contains a laxative to purge thy gizzards of excess calories....quite a logical thought given the circumstances.
I recently tried a nice little treat that has nil fat/low calories....a pack of yoghurt covered nuts, sultanas, raisins and currants. I think they're put out by Nestle` and are a great snack substitute for those with a 'sweet tooth'. If you can get them in the U.K, they're well worth trying out as a choc replacement.

no such thing.............you must be in the early days of giving up smoking and still have no tastebuds......

Yep, in the very early days of quitting the smokes, but there's now't amiss with my taste buds. I have no trouble differentiating between the taste of chocolate and those very scrumptuous yoghurt covered tidbits, however, I have noticed a difference on the bathroom scales since reducing my fat/calorie (chocolate) intake.
Now there's something you don't see/hear about every day....someone who's quitting smoking & losing weight at the same time. Being that arthritis and a spinal condition limits mobility/prohibits too much exercise, I was told that I'd certainly gain weight while quitting the smokes, but the opposite is true because I'm careful about what I eat & how much. Yep, it's still early days, but I've lost just on 1.4 kg since giving up the coffin nails near on five days ago.
I'm hoping to drop around 20kg - 25kg over the next six months or so, not so much to fix my mobility issues, but at least to improve them some. Nothing can fix these old bones entirely now (nobody's gonna spend 6 mil on an old fart like me), but it'd be nice just to be able to go for 'more pain-free' walks and not feel so out of breath.

Um, not short... 6' When I was at my fittest, actively mountain biking up to 100 miles per week, I was between 10st 8lbs and 11st 3lbs. That's only seven years ago. Then I started being ill and upgraded my six-pack to a barrel
Locked away in a cupboard I have a pair of 28" waist Levis... One day... one day...
