Weather Does Not Update To My Liking

Please Fix It!

Sunday, May 6, 2007 by Chasbo | Discussion: ObjectDock

The New Weather Docklet does not update properly. For example: I have the weather plugin for Firefox. It says that it is 62 degrees here in Indiana. My thermometer says 67 degrees. The Firefox plugin is tied into AccuWeather as is the docklet, however the docklet says it is 53 degrees and stays that way even if I update. The only way I can get it to update is if I unload OD then start it again. This sucks. Please fix it. Thank you.

I not only have that same problem, but with the flyout in v1.9, it refuses to update any of the 5-day forecast

Same here - slight bit of drizzle today and only 4mm in the last 8 weeks - and people always think England is always wet...

As to the other problem, the weather docklet is being looked at by the Stardock boffins with a view to improving the weather (I want it warm and sunny the third week in June please).

hey Chaz...please refer to this thread regarding this vexing problem https://forums.wincustomize.com/?aid=151108#1203981 ;also when 'searching' the forums on Objectdock v1.9, the chapter + verse of numerous similar problems worldwide is staggering...the 'zoom' aspect of this app with regard to folder + app shortcuts is what it has always been - smooth, seamless + polished but the weather docklet fiasco of forecasts being out of sync as well as temps being quite off + problems in Stardock Central to remove this 'upgrade' would rate this rollout a royal mess

My favorite bug was that I had the same applet running on two computers side by side, with the same zip code, and each one always had a different temperature than the other, hehe. I assume this was due to being on different update schedules (re: one was lagged a few hours), but I still enjoyed watching them work the bugs out in realtime. It seems to be working now and in sync, so I'm happy. I'm sure they continue to work to improve this very nicely done app. Thanks!

I haven't been able to get a feed, on any of 3 PCs at home or at work, since last Wed. or Thurs. Before that, I did not have any problems updating. And, all other internet-connected stuff works fine, so I'm 99.9% certain it's not a firewall issue, or connectivity on my end.
