Installation

Monday, April 30, 2007 by catfinkster | Discussion: Object Desktop

I'm new to this so bear with me. I was thinking about upgrading to Object Desktop. I already have windowblinds, icon packager and theme manager installed. If I buy Objest Desktop do I need to uninstall those programs before I install Object Desktop? Aren't they included? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

ObjectDesktop is a suite of programs, including those you mentioned. If you are using the free version of those programs, then yes you will need to uninstall them first in order to install the enhanced versions.

I'm not using the free versions, except for the theme manager. I purchased windowblinds and iconpackager over 2 years ago and have since upgraded them. But I think it would make sense to unistall them if they are in the Object Desktop. But also what happens when there are updates for a certain program? Say like I have Object desktop installed and then there is a upgrade for windowblinds? Thanks

If you are already using the enhanced versions you don't need to uninstall them. Once you buy ODNT you'll have to use SDC to download, update, and manage the components.
