The Migration of the Orb

Has anyone else noticed that the Orb phenomenon that used to be the primary focus of Wallpapers has begun to migrate to Windowblinds Start Buttons?
I'm a big fan of Geometric figures. I feel that the Square, Rectangle, Parallelegram, Trapezoid and Hexagon figures will soon revolt and begin discriminitory legal action against the ever powerful Orb unless changes are made.

One of the problems with orbs and any other oversized image as a start button is the glow \ overlay image above the "actual" start button does not work correctly, it shows all the states on top of each other as you mouse through them. Eg: If you have a dropshadow it will get progressively darker on mousover , then pressed etc. It also tends to vanish when you mouseover the logoff buttons.
It makes the design of GOOD start buttons using the overlay image rather limited. Hopefully these limitations \ bugs will have been addressed in WB6.

no shame at all, heck this is a great idea!
We'll create a vista wb, call it "Phoon Vista" or "Vista: Ultimate Phoon Edition" or maybe just "Phoon: Era of the Orb!" (that last one sounds really good)
- immortalized for all time with your very own wb for all generations to download & enjoy! (i'm definitely getting too carried away with this idea)

Might there be a way to set up a blind so that users could insert the userpic/avatar/image of their choice in the Start button? As in the Start menu?

I actually have one that has been sitting in a folder for over a year like this. It was for my Shut Up And Kiss Me Icons. I designed the start-window into a series of mirrors and enclosed a template you could use to make a collage that would fit the mirrors of your sweetie, then just copy it into the wb folder to replace the blank one.
