Weather Docklet does not work
Weather Docklet by Jeff Barmann Version 1.6 and Stardock

After a recent update I was hoping the weather docklet would updated. It has !!! But it still does not work.I tried Brisbane Australia I tried Oceania Brisbane Australia. No Good.
Maybe it only works in the US. Pity I do not live there. Neither do a lot of your customers

The AccuWeather servers are direct feeds. I tried out your location and found it was matching what I have. Have you updated to the latest beta fix?

I'm using version 1.90 build 536. When I check the Download section of the website, I don't see any beta software -- it's all just Free or Plus. Where would I find this beta fix?
As of today the docklet is still not matching the website. Right now the docklet reads 60 degrees and Clear; AccuWeather website says 55 and Mostly Cloudy. Intellicast agrees it's 55 and Mostly Cloudy; TWC says 56 and Mostly Cloudy. When I look outside, I see clouds. Clearly, it's the docklet that's wrong.
I've tried using "Atlanta, GA" as the location, and I've tried using my zip code. It makes no difference; they never match.

You will have to get the update through Stardock Central. Try downloading it then make sure that the "show pre-release" box is checked.

Just as I suspected...I still get timeout problems when it comes to the weather widget and I really hope you can make it flyout for tabbed docks as well please

So since this has been requested so much then why not implement it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who get weather info for more than 2 places, so just as tabbed docks are great for storage of shortcuts for apps, games etc why not make it also a storage place for weather docklets?
Many people have clocks in multiple timezones on their desktop, many people have widgets that check several currencies at the same time so what's the deal?
It is possible to flyout on mouseover in a normal dock and OD can detect if I hover over one of the tabs on the edge of my screen so is it impossible to combine the 2?
Then there is also the time-out problem with multiple weather docks...
Would also be nice to have a refreshed beta on SD Central. I know it's coming up to Xmas but the world doesn't stop because of that

My apologies but we are doing our best. User requests number in the hundreds. They have to be slowly implemented, then see if they work, then fix it, then fix it again, and then not release something broken. I am not giving a "We will get to it when we get to it" thing. I am just telling you that we won't release something broken.
Since lots of people have asked for this you can be certain that it won't be over looked. I hope that helps.

Thank you for doing your best, we appreciate it. However, can you please release some more betas please? Surely thousands of people out there who have the latest beta build would be glad to help with development of the product and the more various possibilities are taken into account the better OD+ will be.
I hope that people understand that beta version of software may have something broken within it. I mean that's why it's called beta for God's sake. If you don't give us a chance to discover the bugs and let you know if the new or fixed features work then you will spend more time testing it yourself, which will result in delays to stable release. It's a win-win situation. I hope I'm making sense...

Betas in this sense are more like "Here we think this works well... anything go bad?". Not in the sense that "Here this is broken tell us why". If that was the case all beta testers could demand a salary. You do however get our eternal gratitude.

Great to know that a beta is around the corner. I'm not gonna ask when but I hope that you are at liberty to give us a sneak peek at what it has in store? Can't wait to take that baby for a test drive.
I think those 2 senses of betas can be combined to benefit both you and us. After all, if something is broken and you don't know why then it make sense to ask us because we might be able to figure it out together. Let's be proactive. Beta testers shouldn't demand a salary because it's optional. If you want to be a beta tester then great, thank you very much. If not then have fun with the stable release and be sure that we are working to improve it.
In any case, that's quite a lot of ado from me. The main 2 things for weather docklet I see that need attention is flyout in tabbed dock and timeout problems. Sounds like the former is in the pipe for the present and I hope the latter will be too

I can't confirm what is in the beta. For the most part I don't actually know yet. Even if I wanted though I couldn't say. However you can be sure that updates will be shouted from the rooftops.
However if you get stuck or have issues of any kind I, and others in support, will respond faster to the support email.

I'm not sure what you guys did, but the AccuWeather docklet is now matching the AccuWeather website for Atlanta, GA. Finally!
I haven't changed anything on my end -- I'm still running version 1.90 build 536 (I refuse to install proprietary downloaders, so I can't get the beta). For a couple of days last week, the docklet stopped working altogether, displaying "feed not available". So maybe it was down for maintenance, which would explain why it suddenly works for the first time ever? At any rate, thanks for doing whatever you did to fix it.

Getting back to weather docklets not working - It was the weather docklets which were crashing my object dock. It got to the stage where sometimes they crashed every half hour. We tried clearing cache etc & even starting the docks from scratch but no difference In the finish we deleted the weather docks off the object dock and since then we have had NO CRASHES. Its been stable for almost a week now. Any chance of someone looking into it as I think the weather docks could be the ones causing a lot of peoples Object dock problems

I live in Atlanta, GA. Currently the AccuWeather docklet says it's 52 degrees, and Clear. Tonight's low is supposed to be 35. Wednesday is supposed to be Partly Sunny, 59/35 and Thursday is listed as Partly Sunny, 57/35.
I click on the docklet and visit the AccuWeather website -- you know, where this data is supposedly coming from? According to the AccuWeather website, it's currently 49 degrees in Atlanta, not 52. It's Partly Cloudy, not Clear. The low tonight is 39, not 35. Wednesday is 61/37, not 59/35. Thursday is Mostly Sunny and 56/39, not Partly Sunny and 57/35. I could go on.
This raises a few interesting questions. How can it be that the AccuWeather docklet doesn't match the AccuWeather website in any respect? Where is this data actually coming from? Can we at least get it renamed to something more, well, accurate? (I vote we call it CrapuWeather.)
