Wednesday, April 25, 2007 by Alan Hill | Discussion: ObjectDock

After a recent update I was hoping the weather docklet would updated. It has !!! But it still does not work.I tried Brisbane Australia I tried Oceania Brisbane Australia. No Good.
Maybe it only works in the US. Pity I do not live there. Neither do a lot of your customers
Global what's that?

Ah, yes flyout on mouseover is not currently available for tabbed docks. The checkbox should be disabled when you configure the weather when it's on a flyout...looks like I may have left that out when I redesigned the dialog for this beta release! I do hope to get that behavior in to tabbed docks at some point as well though, fyi

Thanks for the heads up

Cheers Jeff, implementing this would be very much appreciated. I'm very willing to test it out if you will be planning another beta release for this addition. I also hope to see it before version 2.0 arrives (when is that just out of curiosity?), but I'll still upgrade

Hi #42...

With the new beta version up for testing on Stardock Central right now, all of the above that you listed now work (Lyngby, Denmark - Ordrup, Denmark - and Copenhagen, Denmark)

Is it possible for you to implement, if a user (like me, for example) has multiple instances of weather docklet running to monitor weather in several places at once, an option to "Update all" when right-clicking on any weather docklet? This would certaintly save time manually clicking each one of them or waiting for the next update (how frequent are they btw?). Thanks very much for your help.

At the time of me writing this none of the weather docklets work. All it says is that feed is not available. I have manually tried to update each of my weather docklets and the same result. I hope you know what's going on, because I have no idea

EDIT: While no feeds were displayed, I tried to add another weather docklet and weather lookup caused ObjectDock to freeze and I had to terminate it using Task Manager (noticed a spike in memory usage during this incident). Upon restart of OD the feeds came back on. Can you shed some light please?

Seems to work fine for me now and I am using a Swedish location. Thanks!

Now this one should get Jeff and his team scratching their heads.

I've been using FlashGet to download files and it's been maxing out my connection so much that all the weather docklets I have running (5 in total) have gone blank with a message "Feed not available...please try again later". So what I did was to pause the downloads and manually update each docklet. Guess what? It didn't work!

I'm using the latest beta build of OD+ with WinXP Pro SP2. So how do we solve this one?

My weather docklet has been working fine until yesterday. Now it tells me Feed Not Available. I have deleted the docklet and then re-added but it still comes up as the same. When I enter my town (Aldershot, United Kingdom) it gives me 2 choices neither which work.

I'm in New Jersey, USA and the weather feed has been unavailable for me for about a day. If I can recall, yesterday, my software did an update to Object Dock. Maybe the path to the weather need fixing? Accuweather.com is up and running on the net but these sites will change their links some times? With other weather program utilities, I have had service interuptions because the weather info provider changed their links and you have to adjust paths.????

This is getting tiresome...why do i have to restart every time i want to get the feed back?

Come on Jeff? Somebody? No feedback or anything? I know it is beta, but you are supposed to fix bugs we tell you about and give us something that works properly

Our priorities are not always theirs.
I'm sure it'll get fixed.
