Maybe it only works in the US. Pity I do not live there. Neither do a lot of your customers

I appreciate the continued feedback.  More data can help find all the problems and hopefully lead to a better solution.

Please note reply #64 on May 2nd:
Let's give the devs a few weeks on this one and see what happens. I'll keep you informed as best I can.

Hi Guys,

We're actually in the process of greatly improving the system. Should be back and fine for now. The next few weeks you might see occasional issue...and at the end of it we'll be doing an update. Updating the system to be significantly more robust & do a better job at finding cities, provide the most up to date information possible, etc

Thanks for the update Zubas. Just letting you know we're seeing some changes at our end

I presume you are also aware of the intermittant ObjectDock "closing" issue mentioned in the Wincustomise Docks forum (https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=59&aid=150928)? Do we need another thread is this forum for it?

The same is for me.

Rome, Italy
Roma, Italy
Roma, Italia

all give "Feed not available... try again later."

but:

Paris, France

works.

The only problem is that I live in Rome, Italy...

Any news, as time goes by?

And, in the meantime, there is any other weather plugin that works with OD 1.9?

I put some info on another weather widget that is compatable with OD 1.9 .....See POST #53.

Thought I'd give the new docklet another go 2day after waiting 3 weeks..... Taipei, Taiwan.

Taipei is still only available when inputing 'Taipei, China'...WTF? And, even then it not only gives inconsistant measure of the current temperature when compared to 3 other weather widgets from different servers, but this current temperature is totally out of whack with the info provided in the flyout menus. Well...I guess it only has been 3 weeks......guess u guys aren't up to "T" yet.

Any new information on the progress of this issue?

Thanks for the widget, it works, but the informations about the weather in Rome coming from www.weather.com seem so far from reality.

I really can't understand the difficulty to let the new weather plugin accepting - and sending to accuweather server - different kinds of string, as EUR|IT|IT007|ROME or something else (using this string in the search box of accuweather returns the exact weather of Rome).

Quote from frogboy May 18th, 2007:

The weather docklet that comes with ObjectDock (free and Plus) is actually pretty useful. It also was a huge pain in the rear end because we're actually hosting the weather data ourselves. That's right, Stardock's actually a weather data provider now! Ack. So we've had to quickly learn how to handle a lot of weather data requests.

I think this is it in a nutshell, mate.

I have no problems when I enter my details at the Accuweather site....its info is correctly on par with other weather server info that I use.

The problem seems with Stardock getting their own hosting up to scratch, which isn't functionong properly at all. Personally, I feel it should have been left in beta until it was up and running smoothly rather than being used as a marketing ploy to promote OD.

If the Accuweather website is able to provide me with an accurate current and long range forcast and I read the above mentioned then its pretty clear who should be quickly sorthing this out.

Aparrantly they are, and hopefully they will get it running smoothly...lets just hope that they dont decide to release the fix as OD v2, where we have to pay for a properly functioning enhancement that we were promised in the 1.9 version (but, as yet, haven't recieved).

This is starting to get on my goat now...but I'm gonna keep complaining and posting till the feed for Taipei, Taiwan is at least functioning.

If I was using the freeware version, I wouldn't care, but I like to have software that I purchased to work as advertised or promoted!!

Been almost a month now.... get ur act together Stardock!

Sydney, Australia started working for me a couple of days ago. The current temperatures and conditions appear to be about right, however the issue of the incorrect day noted by a couple of other users affects me also.

For example, right now in Sydney (GMT+10) it is Friday 11th. The weather docklet flyout shows Today, Tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This basically means that "today" is Thursday making "tomorrow" today.

I have finally got the Gold Coast, Australia to start working and like 'kra' the time is way off because of international dateline issues that for some reason stardock/accuweather don't recognise. Quote ironic that we are 1 day ahead of the developers home country but 5 years behind in technology, I just hope that 'Accu' doesn't mean 'Accurate' or i'm going home because it's still Sunday not Monday.

The Weather Docklet works fine in ObjetcDock 1.5 and don't work in version 1.9. St.Petersburg, Russia (code RSXX0091).

They must have a different definition of "quickly" than I do, considering it's been over a month now.

While he has my sympathies, your answer leaves a bit to be desired.

Stardock is a company. Not a one-man shareware outfit. A single developer being ill, even if it is the lead developer, shouldn't mean a product is just frozen until he or she is well again.

Having said that, this clearly is a low priority issue and as such they have chosen to let it wait for the time being. That's a resource allocation decision I can understand. It's not exactly a critical issue, just a somewhat embarassing one since it's given major attention on the OD homepage as a great new feature.

Here's another bug report:

Toronto, Ontario, Canada weather forecast is always around 5 degrees below actual values on the website (viewed in Celcius). I'm wondering why this would be... Brampton, Ontario (just 20 minutes away from Toronto) works perfectly.

Cheers...

Vamdrup, Denmark works..
But Kolding, Denmark doesn't....

Funny, as Kolding is much bigger than Vamdrup and
both cities can be found on the AccuWeather site.

Why are you surprised? Have you read the previous posts? I think that also Rome or Warsaw are a little bigger than Vamdrup...
