window blinds

this is about window blinds, why should we have to pay to upgrade to windowsblinds5, when we get a new computer with vista on it? We didn't tell Bill Gates to come out with another os where everything we have on xp don't work. That makes us lose out on what we spend for windowblinds, why can't we get the update for free?  Can anyone answer that?

If you have a subscription you should be able to update for free through SDC.

Whenever there is a new OS, it requires a lot of work to make the programs work on the new OS.  that requires programmers to do the work, which requires money to be paid to those programmers.

What version of WB do you have?  Do you have an OD subscription?

From Stardock support site:

"If you bought WindowBlinds on it's own you will be eligible for all updates until the next major version change. For example, if you bought WindowBlinds 3.0, you would be able to get WindowBlinds 3.3 now, and 3.4 in the future, but not 4.0 or later versions. For a limited time, WB 2.x users were able to upgrade to 3.x for a reduced price - this is likely to be repeated for current users if/when WB 4.x is released.

If you bought WindowBlinds as part of a subscription to the Object Desktop Network you will be entitled to all fully-released (non-beta) versions of WindowBlinds that fall within your registration period - if you registered a year ago, you would have had WB 2.2, and immediate access to 3.0 when it came out as well as versions through to 3.3, but would not be able to download any future versions unless you renewed."

So, your licensed copy of WindowBlinds 4.0 updates would be any 4.x version and not WB5.x version.

Hope this answers your question.

When you purchase Windowblinds you are entitled to all upgrades of THAT version so If you purchased 4 you have would have to purchase version 5. Version 4 was sold long before Vista came out.
