WindowBlinds wont change anything :(

Hey guys,
I just found this site some hours ago and started to work my way through those tons of skins and icons out there - great site, indeed.
But now I wanted to test Windowblinds and downloaded the sharewareversion, which, as far as i know, should have most (or at least any
) of the features of the full version. After I Installed it without any problems, i rebooted my pc and when it came up again, the configuration window appeared (as it should, i guess) - The Problem is that the Configuration window wont change skins... i can preview any skin by simply clicking on it and when i click apply, some splashscreen appears for a few seconds - and thats it. I noticed that some skins are actually changing the color scheme of my windows, but they do nothing else... no changes on taskbar, windows or anything, only the colors seem to get a bit brighter.
After the first time this Problem occured i searched some forums and google for my problem and found nearly nothing - the only advice i could get so far is to uninstall, delete all temporary files, reboot, install, reboot again and try to run windowblinds again, but i tried that and it hasnt helped at all
i hope any of you has some suggestions on what i could try to do to get windowblinds to run
btw. im running windows XP on an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ with 512MB RAM and a Radeon x800 AiW if that matters at all :/

Also, open Windowblinds Configuration dialog, go to the System Information section, place the cursor in the middle of the window, scroll down to the bottom using the down arrow key, swipe up the contents of that window, copy it and paste it into a reply post here.
