User name in Start Menu

Making a Vista-Friendly Skin

Friday, April 13, 2007 by Insidian | Discussion: Skinning

Hey all, I have a question about the user name in the start menu as it applies to skinning for vista. Mainly, how do you get the user name to show up? None of the XP skins I have display the user name in Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am trying to make my first skin.

The username in the start menu doesn't appear the same way in Vista as it did in XP. In Vista, the username appears in the right panel with the other textual links.

Ok, thanks. So basically, if one uses Vista, then they are just screwed if they want thier username at the top of the start panel? Sorry to be such a noob, I'm just getting started with the whole skinning thing.
