I know some of his work is not in the native format but he really does have some nice vid-loops.

I kind of figured that if people would see some of his samples it might inspire some creativity.

Especially considering its in a roundabout way a competing product.Reply #4 Friday, April 13, 2007 3:30 PM

I dont see the seperation, If they are interested in it..it mean's they are being advertised to.
Basically the policy is saying as long as someone provides something that is interesting to the members then its ok to advertise it here.
I only bring it up because I soon will have Premium WB suites on my site and I would like to clarify whether it would be ok to post releases here or even list my site in any posts or comments.
The old..what's good for the goose" thing..u know. WC has also advertised somewhat competitive.. to itself.. software in the past too in it's articles. I would be interested in knowing how the policy is worded.Reply #6 Friday, April 13, 2007 5:06 PM

D. Arnaez releases smaller versions, here, of full packs he sells on his site. He usually just puts a link in the description. I've never seen anyone say anything about it. WWW Link
Perhaps releasing versions of the wb without animations and other features...or just in wb4 versions (pre per-pixel) here with the full version on your site?
Just a thought.

Wow.. 15 bucks, he's quite proud of those WB's.. Its a pity I cant find more than a 150 pixel thumbnail to checkem out. I might buy one.. maybe i'm just missing it
Well, I guess it's ok to advertise here afterall.

I have to wonder. D. Arnaez was doing this before WC started selling Master skins. After proving that there is a market for them, I imagine a lot of people will want to sell their skins. There are a lot of good skinners that aren't Master's or who may not want to split the profit. This begs the question...How much competition/advertising on the WC site will be tolerated if at all?
I just read over a thread where this came up with the Dream's, and they weren't for sale, but it was argued that they were in direct competition with some that were.

Seems like everytime I turn around I see a post linking to something that that is competing with Stardock and no one seems to say anything. It's going to start being a bit of give and take if you ask me.. Sites like WC need quality content to keep up membership whereas artists like myself need exposure and traffic. It would seem as though something could be worked out that would be beneficial for all.

I am sure it will. It would only make good business sense for both parties.

BTW on the cloud pack:
Non HD rendered clouds, half of 'em taken directly taken from Vue 6 presets/scenes? That's pretty much NOT a deal.

I wouldn't know about that. All I see are thumbnails. IMHO it would be foolish to spend money on that without being able to view the animation first.

"NTSC 720 x 480 Resolution" DV res not even basic HD 1280x720 the min res given for dreams on this site (not that all dreams online meet this spec) but thats another matter

I would have thought that for the prices he is asking for his clips he would have bought a HD camcorder by now and updated to HD rendering software
