It seems Microsoft just cannot design and develope software that the hackers of the world won't able to get into.

No company can design a foolproof system. Only a fool would assume so.

They are a huge target and they have to expect hacks.

Don't blame MS, it's the nature of the beast.
Some people cannot resist a challenge.........

I knew about this for awile, even before I bought my copy of Vista.

Not much they can do about it either. Those guys are using OEM keys provided by Dell, Asus.. and so on. Its not like they can go on a key blacklisting spree.

I use MS products, both ones you pay for and free items from their Web pages. I wasn't trying to take what could be called a cheap shot at them or blame them.

That being said I seem to remember them beating their chest and shouting to the public how thay had improved security and were going to deal with pirates and hackers in very harsh ways. (Did I stir the pot enough)

"We focus on hacks that pose threats to our customers, partners and products," Kochis wrote. "Our goal isn't to stop every 'mad scientist' that's on a mission to hack Windows. Our first goal is to disrupt the business model of organized counterfeiters and protect users from becoming unknowing victims."

[Quote from article]

In any fight, you can't take on all at once. You have to face one at a time, or you will be overwhelmed. It is not really surprising that people are attempting to take what is not given. With organized gangs on the net, it would appear that we humans will find every facet of all things or experiences - the good and the bad (and perhaps the 'ugly' as well).

"Discipline is what you do when no one is around" - I read that (or something in that vein) and whole-heartedly agree.
