WC Poll: Stardock's IRC Server

Wasting time, raised to an art form!

Tuesday, April 10, 2007 by Zoomba | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Two weeks ago, I asked what people expect to be their level of involvement in a WinCustomize Wiki should it be launched.  The responses were pretty evenly spread out between the possible responses, and about what I expected.  As we draw closer to launching the wiki, there will be news items posted here at WinCustomize for those interested in helping out.

Here are the results:

How Would You Contribute to a WC Wiki?
Major Contributor 17.86%
Minor Contributor 20%
Casual Contrubtor 23.57%
Regular User 25%
No Interest in a WC Wiki 13.57%

This week's poll is about Internet Relay Chat.  Stardock runs its own IRC server, which hosts channels like #GalCiv, #Stardock and #WinCustomize and is a place you can come to chew the fat in real-time with many of the developers and site regulars from WinCustomize.  Stardock Central and the WinCustomize Browser both come with an integrated IRC client to make connecting as easy as possible.  So, my question to you is, have you used our IRC tools to get support, chew the fat, or just goof off with your buddies from Stardock/WinCustomize?

If your interested in paying us a visit, you can hook up either via SDC/WCB, or with some other IRC program such as mIRC.  Just connect to irc.stardock.com and join us in either #wincustomize or #Stardock.

Results posted next week.

I never leave! As for what I'm doing there...all of the above. Popped in a few months ago because I was bored and been there ever since. It's really cool being able to talk to all these people you interact with on the forums, but in real-time. Feel like you get a chance to know them better (plus the goofing off is fun).

Oh yeah, some IRC related fun: #stardock statistics generated by GreenReaper.

Grrrr... ranked #8 in IRC usage?!?!  I am such a slacker!

You get to know peopel a lot better when you are with them (on and off) for hours a day.

On teh other hand, if you thought my spelling was bad when I had teh oppertunity to correct it, you should see me in realtime!

#stardock should be renamed to #hotelcalifornia... I'm always in there on at least one of my comps.  More than one if I'm at my parents house, cause both lappy and desktop are connected.

I... seek.... professional.... help.....
