Icon Developer not working properly.
Icon Developer has not been updated since Aug-2006

Recoloring Icons has been a pain for months but I could always work around it and manage to get it to finish the recoloring process.
Certain IP's are not allowing the recoloring process...If you try going through Icon developer and highlighting the new IP" "Post Tenebra Lux " It will say " Out of memory" and not allow you to even try to recolor. If you go through Icon Packager ( clicking on the Icon developer icon-right lower corner) It will allow you to recolor and when you hit save it will go through the coloring process ( which seems to take extra long these days ) Then you get a pop up that says 180 Icons have been colored.
You go to Icon Packager and the new icons are there by name but no preview and when applied you get default XP yellow folders.
I've checked with 4 other that tried to recolor same IP and they are getting the same " Out of memory" message in ID.
So...is it the software thats not working or something in certain Icon Packs causing this problem?

Your kidding...even with the latest version of Icon packager ? I know ID hasnt been updated but you should still be able to recolor most packs...but its not fast like it used to be ..it 'seems' to freeze up and cursor spins forever but if you wait long enough then do eventually finish..

I just tried...and the package didnt show up in Icon Packager - I had to click on the " Install package from disk" on bottom of IP then browse for the folder..then inside the folder it had the IP install.but im not sure what I did at that point..but I have them recolored...
This is way too much work though....

seems after a bit of working with the lux package it does not contain a icon library associated with icon packager is the reall reason and the package will have to be remade with icon builder and associated to a icon library made with the builder. I will do this when I get home this evening and show you even better how this works with a properly nade icon package.
As I see it the icon developer is still of very much good use! Just would be nice if the people that make the packages would do so with a proper way of adding the icons to the package.
Along with this is the way that Icon Packager also saves a package out of being in the builder state of the program.
Do let me know and I'll try to give you all some of tips for doing these things better...

got to run!
worktime is early today...
