Which Vista is Vista?
Fun with WindowBlinds 5.5
Sunday, March 25, 2007 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News
One of these is Windows Vista by default and one of these is Windows XP with WindowBlinds 5.5 running. Of course, if you look closely at the text in the notepad windows, it's pretty easy to tell.
But check out that the non-Vista actually is more consistently Vista than Vista (you'll know what I mean when you look at the non-theme aware app pictured).

actually i did

My friend has vista installed and he told me it uses about 480mb of ram (he has desktop sidebar disabled)
and on top of that the drivers that ATI and NVIDIA rushed out for vista don't work as great as their XP counterparts (but pretty good don't get me wrong)
I'm pretty sure i can disable stuff to make vista run on very little memory but for now there isn't much of a reason to upgrade yet.
But to the point i did a fair bit of research on vista, and i really want to try out that readyboost feature

The whole comment about being more Vista with WB 5.5 then the real Vista is a complete joke. That goes for the whole company the last year btw, I upgraded my Object Desktop last year, but I got only upgrades for two or three programs. Stop waisting your time with some .dreams program for only the happy few while still after 2 years(!!) DesktopX and IconX won't run together on all PC's.
Don't bother to respond to this, I am not reading it anyway. I canceled my last upgrade of OD because of lack of support and upgrades. Like the great SS_GOKU said, I don't feel welcome anymore, so bye, bye...

I know it makes it close enough that people at Microsoft were using it for that reason.
As for upgrading to Vista - I have on some of my machines and not on others.
Computers are tools. I don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading. People will upgrade to Vista as they come to need it for something.
As for Stonehedge - there is no perfect solution.

I was wondering this myself when I installed WB on Vista...
