Enough Already...
just STOP IT!

Can people PLEASE stop capitalizing on the name when doing themes, walls, etc.
It's like nails on a chalkboard seeing people use the word Vista in something when it has absolutely NOTHING to do with Vista at all. It's called Popularity Whoring. It's distasteful, vile, putrid, disgusting and could be considered a felony in several states!!
How about a new category called "This crap has nothing to do with Vista" and put all of this PWWare in there!!!
Somewhere, there's a semi-transparent Turtle rolling over in his grave!

Past time....
Vista skins were worse than the evening news cast...Way overdone..
People were slapping "Vista" on anything and everything so they could collect download numbers... That really is the root of the skin title in allot of cases, really quite pathetic...

Yup. I hated it then, too.
Seeing 'Vista', 'XP', or any logo, right down to that little freakin' apple on the start button is enough to keep me from downloading it. (Then again, I did an anti-vista/longhorn wall about a year or so ago) <<<< shameless plug!
But I really do hate it. Especially 'poor' renderings of the logo's or 'style'.
I knew a guy, way back in the 70's when people still used matches to light their cig's. He would buy matches by the box, but they had to be plain white covers. His theory was that if he was going to advertise for someone else, he should get paid for it. He drove a Pontiac Catalina, and even pulled off all of the Pontiac logo's and stuff. he would say "I have already given up my hard earned money for the product. If I am to advertise further, I should get something." He also used to go around repeating some stupid limerick about 'Doo-I-Ditty' and would go berserk if you used one of his matches. (20 matches-20 cigarette's)

The phrase is more commonly 'Trend Whoring'...

When I see low qual Vista 'named" skins being downloaded at 3x the rate of well executed non-Vista named skins it really says a lot about the state of affairs as it pertains to the communty's collective psyche.
I personally refuse however to compormise my artisic integrity in lieu of higher download counts.
That's not saying I wont design for Vista, I just won't masquerade as it.
