1 Transparent Glass skinning question 1 problem with my latest skin
Friday, March 16, 2007 by MikeFuryXP3 | Discussion: Skinning
Question and Problesm 2: I'm working with a new skin last night I call it Phantom universe with a light purple glow. the skin was looking perfect and I had save it to my flash drive and hdd. I closed skinstudio and I applied the skin to XP and some stuff came out really bad with major problems.... I managed to fix 95% of the problems but I still have one last bad problem. the drop button has took the image of ground image button and no matter what I do to give it the right button even from previous skins that are perfectly stable. Can somebody look at this screen shot and tell me why its doing this or could I email it to somebody and have them look at it ?

Somehow when skin studio save the skin the first time something went horribly wrong and I didn't notice it until I tested the skin at 1:15am in the morning when I finished 2 weeks of work creating the blasted skin.
also is their good guide for creating transparent glass parts in wincustomize.net ?

# 2, for the dropdown, there are three images, the border, the button and the button glyph image,.. looks like you have them mixed up.. remove em all and re-import to the correct areas.
Looks to me as if you have an incorrect amount of frames though, It should be 4 for all three images. Check your image and your frame count for each image and make sure it is set to 4.
#3, as much as you may hate PS, if you spend 30 mins a day in it, in a week or two you;ll get the hang of it. I was the same when I first ventured into it from PSP 7 back in the day.

I import the images into skinstudio and it creates the required tga files for my skins.
I'm not a big fan of photoshop either, I find working fireworks so much easier. Don't know about PSP v7-9, but if it can create png files and you can adjust transparency of those images while you're editing them I would think that would be enough. I don't think you need to use the color purple (or magic pink possibly you're referring to), I certainly don't.
As far as your 2nd problem, it's hard to say, are you sure you're using the correct image and does it have all of the required frames (or maybe it has too many frames?)
