Some people are having Dream Problems

Some Dreams working for some but not others - WHY ???

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 by AzDude | Discussion: Animated Wallpapers

IN RESPONSE TO A FEW PEOPLE WHO POSTED THAT A FEW OF THE DREAMS DON'T WORK FOR THEM , I WROTE THIS - BUT AFTER I WROTE THIS I HAD ONE MORE THOUGHT - COULD IT BE THE PROGRAMS WE USE TO MAKE THE MPG2 FILES BE DIFFERENT IN THEIR CODING OF MPG2 ??? POSSIBLY CAUSING THE PROBLEM ?? I'M STUMPED ???? I KNOW ALOT HAS TO DO WITH THE VARIOUS COMPUTER MAKE-UP'S I.E. RAM - VID CARD ETC. BUT FOR THE FEW WHO CLAIM TO HAVE ENOUGH COMPUTER - I MAKE THIS POST >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> THIS WAS MY RESPONSE POST ..............................." I don't understand this either why some Dreams work for most people and a select few have a problem with a few Dreams - plain and simple the Dreams are made in the MPG2 format and then converted to the .dream file for download - 1 format for all ( unless you go .wmv but then CPU usage goes up ) - You would think if 1 MPG2 file and 1.dream file works for you they should all work - but they don't.-could it be maybe in the coding of the Mother Programs ( Dream Scene and/or DeskScapes ) were the problem lies ??? - Like I said before all my Dreams are fully tested to work flawlessly on my machine before submission - so I'm stumped why you chosen few have the problems when 100's of others don't . Enough has been mentioned about this in various Dream posts that I would expect WC to address the problem sooner or later - they made the program and it will probably be one of their techs who will fiqure it out - hopefully soon - 'cause some people are getting upset . This Dream thing is a whole new Concept and as such it would be very un likely for it not to have a few flaws ( bugs ) out the gate . Hopefully in time this will work itself out - but I would like to see this issued addressed by WC as to what they think is going on ????? ....... I FILL BAD FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING PROBLEMS - HOPING OF COURSE IT'S NOT SOMETHING I'M DOING WRONG ??? ----- PLEASE HELP WC IF YOU CAN - to shed some light on this issue - Thank You ...." ...... This is the Link to the posts i'm referring to here WWW Link

Careful, the codec pack can wreck havoc if you use Media Center on Vista.

My computer is pretty clean, no so called third party junk file, in fact, mostly just music. I have DLed the Vista pack mentioned above, but still only about two thirds of the dreams work. Oh yea, I do have an nVidia card, but I have the latest drivers for it. My computer is probably more up to date than anyones, cause all I do is check for updates and DL Dreams, and WB's, but I'm not even using the WB's. I figure it's like XP, it'll just take about a year before everything halfass works.

I've got a ? Where do you put the Dreams. For example, I just leave mine in the Download folder. I've tried Dreamscapes, but did'nt make any difference. Oh, and I have never even turn the Media Center on.

I just open Deskscapes, click "Add/Remove Animated Desktops", and drag them there from my download folder.

i made a dream folder and put them in , but when on desktop backgrounds they are there or also in the downloded folder so i can click from either place and they start up ..

OK. I just moved them, the way boss0190 said. Didn't make any difference. I have also made a Dream folder, and tried that way. No difference. I have, however, looked at the ext., and, the ones in mpg or wmv, seem to actually work better than the ones with the dream ext. I tried changing the ext., with shelltoys, and it didn't make any difference. So, I give up. I'll just use the one's that work, and hope that some day they will all work. An example is BallImpactRow. It worked for about 30 seconds, then froze. Now it doesn't work at all. All the one's AzDude have made, don't work, and that's a shame because they all look so good. I'm not judging, I wish I could get them to work, because, most of them look pretty cool. Also, not trying to piss anyone off, just trying to figure out the problem. So, PEACE, OK?

you know, about the dreamscene problems with nvidia..

Nvidia has beta drivers for vista.... i moved to those drivers after i was having problems with dreamscene crashing my feb 20, 2007 nvidia drivers. Since then, everything has been running perfectly.
