ok i immediately browsed that link...it was for background, icon and docklets...my actual dilemma: i downloaded heavy equpment docks by WebGizmos, for example ( as you can see, i am a real newborn here, bear with me)...no folder in the directory sez docks. i tried extracting it to themes. it didnt work. then i extract it to the main folder (object dock).. it didnt work. they were there but i cant use them...?? u can feel now what i am feeling? it's frustrating then i'll see all your comments about wow and beautiful and more...i wish i can say these words...oh man

You need to extract them to the Backgrounds folder and then follow the examples here - https://www.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?aid=139232

right click the existing icon and choose Dock Entry Properties. Select Change Image and browse to wherever you stored the downloaded icon. Select that and you've got it.

All of your icons that you plan to use for OD should be kept in your OD image folder in My documents....this makes sure that OD can find them & prevents other programs from * hijacking them ...this hijacking would only occur with ico images..the format Windows uses. And .PNG icons are best used with OD...higher quality image & haven't heard of them being hijacked.
After having gone through the process of setting up your docks ....Save the Theme...
Open Configuration panel...on the left select ..Themes.. then see...Save Theme As...select & choose the name...
