skinning the login screen

not the main login screen

Saturday, March 3, 2007 by werewolf | Discussion: Skinning

Tried taking a screen shot of it, but it didn't work...

When you disable the fast user logon and do the window key>L thing, you get an unskinned login screen.

Any way to skin that? Looks bad.

do you also have 'show the welcome' turned off?

I think these need to be on for LS to work - else you're log on is akin to logging on in a domain - and LS doesn't skin domain log on

yeah this is just my home computer. 3 users. The only thing I turned off was the fast user logon service in the services list. Don't know where the "show the welcome screen" is...I probably do, just don't remember right now.

When going into 'control panel' 'user accounts' 'change the way users log on and off' - that would be the check box above 'use fast user switching'

LOL...well that's a really big DUH for me Thanks.

So, here's another one since we're here...

Are we *ever* going to be able to enlarge the size of the icons on the left hand pane (folder view (?)) in Explorer? I've got a really gorgeous icon set on my computer and those little tiny things just don't do it justice.

OK, so I turned off all that stuff and now all those screens are unskinned and ugly. Not on a domain.

oops again on a roll I guess. I turned them both back on and now I don't even see those screens so there ya go.

I turned them off because there was some funky stuff going on and I needed them off for troubleshooting. Wasn't that so I turned them back on. Thanks Bichur....sorry for being in the porridge
