Mods...I don't want to be a prude, but the ss here https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=19228&libid=13 is inappropriate for a family site as it depicts a minor in a suggestive position. It should be removed.

Something happened here today that occurs everyday in life. You come across or better put, run face first into a situation that tests your personal principals and morals. Since those two things identify who we are in this world they shouldn't be taken lightly. Boopish and CLwoods made a decision to leave based upon thier personal beliefs. I understand and respect thier decision. That being said, what are you, me, we, and us going to do about getting them back? I received and email from CLwoods, maybe I'll send one to Boopish. Couldn't hurt.

I was hoping to avoid anymore thread writing on this subject, but I can see I am going to have to. I really appreciate your kind words Karen, Philly, Skinhit, and Quentin. It is a shame what happened here today. 3 Skinners were lost. I realize this site is mainly about men, and the loss of a couple female skinners probably doesn't mean much to most, but one of them was a male. My husband, who left before I did because of his principals.
It has been a very long day and one I wish to put behind me as quickly as possible and I'm hoping this last post will help me achieve it.
I am very hurt over today. My heart is broken and I feel like I have lost a part of myself. No site should allow the kind of picture that we are talking about on their site and the fact that members here that have supported the site through money, skins and help would be shoved aside and ridiculed for the sake of that child like porno screenshot and the level 2 visitor that posted it is way beyond what I will deal with. No matter how you cut it or how you say it or defend yourselves that is what happened here today. I was even attacked by someone I regarded as a friend and had prayed over their animal situation for many nights and days and when I wasn't doing that I was bumping the thread to keep it on top. It leaves a person cold. And just so you know, it has been a part of WC since I can remember that we are able to see who downloaded ours or anyones work. You just need to click on the downloads number on the actual downloads page and another page pops up and tells you. Try it, you will see for yourself. It had nothing to do with cookies and it's a good thing since I clear mine several times a day along with the cache.
I did not leave or announce leaving to be asked to come back. First that would imply game playing which I do not do, or that I need that kind of thing for my ego or self esteem. Truth is I supply my own ego and self worth to myself. Second there was no chance of that happening once I decided to leave. There isn't now, nor will there ever be. There is no amount of emails or asking that will ever bring myself or my husband back. I cannot speak for boopish, although I know her convictions are as strong as ours.
I do wish to be allowed the benefits of being a paid member, for which I will be through this year into January of 2008. I promise not to engage in anything here or be disruptive. I just want to be able to use that which I paid for.
In closing I would like to say thank you to all who supported me. I will never forget it. The 3 of us will still be in the skinning community. I have my own site and my husband and I are staff at Skinnalicious. If you feel like it stop by for a visit. We would be happy to see you.

Wow... all this was going on while I lurked on the forums and I didn't even notice.
My thoughts after reading this? (for whatever they're worth now)
If a submission is controversial enough that some well-liked, respected and contributive members of the WC community feel it is inappropriate enough to consider leaving, that submission should be immediately pulled and reevaluated. Especially when the subject is a screenshot.
The site's content isn't really what makes WC great, it's the community one encounters when one joins up, and even I know that TAWoods, CLWoods and boopish were (are) great people who had a very positive impact on many here, and who spent a lot of time and effort -and money also I'm sure, on WC and Stardock.
That this screenshot was allowed to cause so much ruckus is silly.
While censorship on a site like WC -where artistic creativity in a wide range of applications is encouraged- is difficult to enforce, incidents like this need to be dealt with on a case by case basis. But when reputable, long-standing contributing members of the community raise concerns, it's usually a good idea to at least pay close attention to what they have to say, if not take immediate action.
I for one am sorry that this was allowed to occur. I hope it serves as a lesson for the future: respect and value those who truly feed into the community which creates revenue. After all, this site thrives because of the input and cooperation of its regular members (skinners and customizers).
But there you have my opinion for it's worth.

THIS IS TRULY A SAD DAY @ WINCUSTOMIZE...WE HAVE LOST THREE VERY VALUABLE AND TALENTED PEOPLE AND FOR WHAT? A FRIGGIN VISITORS SCREENSHOT? I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WASNT DEALT WITH RIGHT AWAY...I ONLY WISH FUZZY HAD GOTTEN HERE SOONER B/C HE ACTUALLY DEALT WITH IT ACCORDINGLY! CLWOODS! ABSOLUTELY NO CRITICISM WAS INTENDED. I HONESTLY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS FEATURE AND WAS ONLY ASKING HOW IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it was pulled but only because Screen Shot itself did not meet the WC guidelines for properly obscuring the wallpaper.The author of the screen shot can still update the shot if he so chooses..with the same wall...unless you all decide that the wall itself is in fact not appropriate.
I have already received a letter from Bet - Boopish, she won't be back. I was hoping that everyone would cool off but it doesn't appear that is going to happen - sigh.

See that's what I'm talking about. That screenshot was definately not worth the loss of 3 (and potential more) respected and contributing members. No offense to any visitors but I would have rather lost many visitors, than Thave lost A&CLWoods & Boopish.

Those leaving are not welcome back. I am setting their access to visitor. They should remove their works and be gone.
I will not tolerate elitists who would try to force their viewpoint at the threat of leaving. From here on out, I will personally expedite anyone out the door who pulls that kind of tactic.
If you can't have a discussion or a debate without the threat of "pulling your work" then you are not welcome in this community. There will be no exceptions.
I will be going through this thread further and changing access to visitor of those who have said they are leaving. Because if they are leaving, then, go and be gone.
I warned people when WC2K7 launched that I was going to no longer tolerate a bunch of self appointed elitists trying to bully the rest of the community or the volunteers who moderate. The day of the elites are over. They can go to some other site and lord of its population with their demands.

TAWoods and CLWoods. Perhaps they'll find some other site where they can bully others into meeting their demands.
A community that can't rationally and calmly discuss an issue without people resorting to trying to get their way through coercion is not a community I would want to be part of.
Those who want to leave because we don't instantly capitulate to their demands but instead (gasp) wish to discuss it should leave.
