NO MORE CursorXp CRASHING!!!
by using my cursor themes....
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 by TYCUS | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
..and at last, after several tryies, i finally get it!!!!! i ask for help to JJ Ying for this.., i ask him if he had this problem with any of his cursor themes and the answare was a yes and.., a no', why? becouse even that we both use the same software to creat skins (3d Studio Max), he buil his themes by editing the .ini file, not like me that i use to build my skin directly on cursorxp..., this is the issue:
NORMAL .ini FILE (Terranove theme, the most problematic!!!)
GOOD .ini FILE (Water Radiance theme, .ini file updated!!!)

You can see the image because it is stored in your temporary internet files, all we see is an image placeholder

I have never been able to load this cursor through the normal CursorXp route. When I move the slider onto the Cursor theme and hit apply - it causes the application to close down each time I try. But, I can open the cursor xp theme folder and click on the cursor and it will open. There are a few cursors like this - mostly the ones that are heavily animated. ( large files )
Tycus, you really should update these - a lot of people do not know how to do this.

In the the time you took to upload the screenshot, you could have uploaded the revised files.

THat is likely to be the same issue with the one proposed for the Heavy Equipment suite.
Of course, NOT bothering to fix it is yet another arguably good reason not to have it associated with the suite.
Once an error is found, particularly when there is a discovered solution the only 'correct' thing to do would be to fix the uploaded skin, not have everyone do their own tail chasing....

I don't know too much about scripting....other than bits involved in skinning...eg Litestep step.rc files, etc.... but do remember one particular bit that I myself coded....that absolutely refused to behave [as a clickable shortcut link] UNLESS it had a space [empty line after it]....and yet others, almost exactly identical did not need the space.
Freaky....

The Elements cursor pack and The Heavy cursor themes (00,01,02), are updated and working just fine..., realy, i try each one., and you need to know that it wont crash at all when u change from one theme to another, unless., u do that more than 5 time., then it will crash again (that will happen with any theme, not only my creations.., at least for me..).
SO ENJOY MY THEMES...!

If you have Winzip installed, you do not have to rename the extension first. Just right click, Open With, choose Winzip. Edit the file, save and allow Winzip to update the file.
