How can I put an avatar, Desktop and favorite skin on my site?

Go to your my site link at the top right of the home page. Then go to settings and then to update images and follow the directions.

If you're trying to insert it into text, it has be be uploaded somewhere - it won't insert from your pc

You could but because of the way the photo album script works, you won't be able to place the images inline, they have to end in an image file extension (.gif, .jpg, .png etc) and the photo album images end in a hash code instead.

Check this out. Uploaded my smileys to ImageShack, registered and when I went to view my images there was only the one I use for ID. Went in search of my smileys, I usually save what I download to one drive and store them on another but, and this is really strange, there is nothing in either drive that I've dowloaded over the past four days
including my smileys, Night Trains awesome new WB Warsux another called Poisonous and a few others. If it makes a difference the WB I was using is Black Borderline by Remo. Could it be the copy and move functions didn't work?

No...too slow...Firefox 2.0. Tried IE7 and it just don't cut it.
