IE 6 not using blurred shadows on toolbar buttons.

I so want this to work.

Is there a reason for this behavior?

The Start panel should never be acting anything like that. Try killing explorer.exe and restarting.

Did you get my return email? Was tired and forgot to post here.

All I got is...Try changing the fonts for classic widgets to a normal font and size, reboot.
Adam N has warned pretty clearly that messing with fonts for classic widgets can go nutty.
Seeing mIkeB's skin without any settings has really scrambled my nuggets.

Classic fonts on my own skin are working great...those toolbar buttons are all assigned fonts...not classic.

I was having the start menu mouseover issue before I ever changed classic fonts.I think its a .tga issue...they can be damn flaky on the start menu, show hidden icons arrow and toolbar buttons. They stop being truly translucent.I still dont understand why WB dosnt use .png...they work a lot better everywhere else.DX,OD,etc...

Everything in the start panel supports png.

those toolbar buttons are all assigned fonts

Some buttons do use hard coded text settings. The "Post reply" button below is one example. Text is hard coded as black but uses your font setting.

Here is a brainteaser...grouped menu is using the favorites menu under the assigned menu image...as you mouse into it,it draws the edges properly???

The reason I am picking this skin to pieces is I really want to make the best WB possible...its no longer good enough to get one pretty good,or looking good enough on my pc...they have to be as complete as possible...

I keep hoping someone from Stardock will take notice and address some of these issues with concrete info...if its impossible, tell us...if its fixable, fix it...if you never saw these probs...let us know.

After removing all attributes in the grouped menu section,it still looks exactly the same...just uses the wrong mouseover.

I.R. The evrsion of your skin I have doesn't have the images input yet.

Did you import a mouseover image for the grouped menu? There are 4 states for it and it should work fine.

Are you using the MENU BACKGROUND for the grouped menu background? The grouped menu doesn't support translucency. You have to make a different menu for that just like you did with the favorites menu.

I have not updated to 5.5 yet. Still running build 85 over here in case it matters.

I imported a .png for the start menu mouseover but SS converted it to .tga and its still not truly translucent.

Have you messed with the transparency levels in the image properties in SKS? The version Ihave, you have changed that from 255 to 163. That could be doing something.

I.R. Here is a trick that might help you.

Take a fresh luna template and set all the classic colors to different colors. Red blue green, etc. Change the fonts to different fonts that you can easily notice with different colored shadows. Save the skin for the future. You can always load that to trace problem areas. I have found it to be the most useful tool.
