complete new face of win?

Sunday, February 11, 2007 by uziii | Discussion: Suites

hello!

i'm searching for a complete suite for win xp.
i mean something like flyakite os x, that gives my pc a nicer look then the standard windows-themes do
i tried out some themes like the one from http://www.4impressions.net/
the design is great! but what i don't like about this themes is, that they don't change -everything- in windows... i mean for example the icons of the start-menu (programs, documents, search, run,...) or the standard icons of the explorer (arrows back and forward, search,...).
the whole os looks a little bit messy because some parts are changed and some parts are not.
so i'm searching for something like flyakite that doesn't waste my ressources (very important!!) and looks nice and simple (i don't need any special tools..)

is there anything like this?
hope someone can help me.

thx very much.
uziii

p.s: sry for my very bad english

Do you have an Object Desktop Subscription?

If not, what Stardock GUI/Customization software do you have?

it is possible, but not with just one program or theme

stardock has programs that cover all these things (windows blinds does your main GUI theme and can also do the explorer buttons but the buttons and themes are different files and need to be downloaded as such)
iconpackager is what you want for all your icons, includes filetypes, start menu icons, pretty much anything that uses a .ico file

as KiloKrash has said, an Object Desktop subcription is the best way to get all the software

This is a bit long, but it covers just about everything ObjectDesktop has to offer (and has all the info you need to know if you take the time to read it all): ODNT Tutorial Index.

i tried iconpackager...but when i tried to change the icons of the start menu it says something like "microsoft has taken out the ability to change the look of the start menu"
how can i get around this?

...and i really don't want to spend much money for the objectdesktop suite ... and i don't want to install alot of programs that use alot of my ram.

is there maybe a possiblity to replace the whole shell (windows explorer)?
