Is DeviantArt down?

I haven't been able to reach the DeviantArt site in a couple of days. Does anyone know what's going on over there?

Strangest thing I can't get there from my laptop or my desktop. I just did a Google search and clicked on all the links and I keep getting "The Page Cannot Be Displayed". I can reach anyother web page just not that one.

Strange Things Go On I cleared out my cookies and temp files. Closed out IE and I noticed that the Omega gadgets that I put on the right side of the screen just the clock was on the left. So I went to move it and it shot to the right, right off the screen and disappeared.

So I still can't get to DeviantArt and NO I haven't been drinking....YET!

DA has been know to IP ban people...and others get caught in the crossfire, just for being with the same provider, etc.

Could be that...

Could also be a browser hijack preventing you from getting there....

OK so how do I contact DA without getting to the site? If it was a browser hijack wouldn't it take me to another site? This is happening on 2 computers one with Vista(IE7) and the other with XP(IE6). No spyware,adware or viruses on either of them.

I fixed it.What happened was in the Internet Options on the Advanced tab I had to turn on the "Use SSL 2.0'. How it was turned off I have no idea. I told you SPOOKY things are going on.

I had just this happen 2 years ago. I couldn't figure out what I did to get banned & they said it was someone using the same provider. They suggested I have a friend (with a different provider) renew for me since Bellsouth.net was banned. Luckily I have a Roadrunner account as well so I could do it myself. Kinda ticked me off tho........

I think at one stage they excluded every AOL account...as they were getting specific trouble from a few there...

That was a fair few years ago, now...

AGAIN.... DEVIANTART DOWN - june 17 2009

Simple thinking...

The reason is "CoolIris" a new Firefox Plugin to view 3D images flows like a gallery road.
The search engine DeviantArt is baked into CoolIris plugin for you browser. So if people seach for Pictures in CoolIris under DeviantArt. hmmm....You all can amagion that to many traffic wil dump on DeviantArt's IP server
CoolIris works without "pagenext" to view some next photo's. just scroll endless in rapid speed.
Also DeviantArt have the plugin on serverside to let people view images into CoolIris

I hope DeviantArt will come back in short time IT'S THE BEST SIDE EVER!!!! hehe
