Here is my Windows Experience Ratings Index
SystemBase Score 4.0
Processor Rating 4.0
Memory RAM Rating 4.1
Graphics Rating for Aero 5.9
Graphics Rating 4.9
Hard disk Rating 5.2
Now that should be pretty good to run the Aero Theme. I dont know why it aint being applied. When i run that Stardock Vista Styler beta program it told me DWM was not running. If anyone can try and help me out with this that will be great.
I know WindowsBlinds for Vista will probably not run anyway if DWM is not running.
Also i just run a Assessment
Windows System Assessment Tool
> Running: Feature Enumeration v1.0.0.0 ''
> Run Time 00:00:00.47
> Running: WinSAT Direct3D Assessment v1.0.0.0 '-glassw 20'
> Run Time 00:00:17.31
> Graphics Performance 1.80 F/s
> Video Memory Throughput 35.95 MB/s
> Run Time 00:00:19.59
> Total Run Time 00:00:20.72

I have my Vista coming today Vista Home Premium x64 so i will test it then and see if its fixed. I cant wait for Vista SP1 also. I noticed a bug after the install process. It asks you what you want to do about windows update. I just said Ask me later and still it continued to download and install the microsoft updates. When it did this i did a system restore then i got Aero again that was with build 5600 RC1 so im not sure if some issues was fixed in the Retail Releases. Is the released ones still build 6000 or are they higher?
Hopefully someone will make a program soon to stop Aero being disabled. I could code it but i want to leave programming alone for a while and just discover windows vista before i think about doing anything.
When Windows XP was released October 25th 2001 it took me a year just to be a XP Geek. Now i need to learn and be a Vista Geek.
Also last night i ripped my External 300GB Hard Disk apart and put it in my PC as IDE ready for windows Vista because Windows Vista uses about 9 - 10 GB so yea. It should of boosted my system rating more though it only boosted it 1 notch it was 4.0 now its gone to 4.1 i think it should be more.

This is assuming you have gone to the Appearances Panel and selected Windows Aero.
Right Click Desktop->Personalize->Window Color and Appearance
If you go to the Appearances panel, and Aero is available, and you select it and Apply, and it doesn't take, that suggests to me a running app can't handle Aero.
But who knows, everything so new!
