Am I a dinosaur?

Monday, January 22, 2007 by Mebion | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Whilst reading the rent thread "Blinds you'd like to see updated with more modern feature", I began to think about what I currently run on my machine. After a brief flirtation with WB5, I have stuck with 4.6 and rather than accepting Microsoft's kind invitation to "Upgrade" at regular intervals, I still use Media Player 9 as I like the collection of skins built up over the past few years.
Is there a way of converting skins upon changing over to WB5 or must I bite the bullet and start my collection again from scratch? Any advice would be welcomed.

I'm sure you'll get immediate advice here. My experience is that I've been able to save what I want in a separate file/folder in another location(Desktop? Or where I wish), and then just move the saved files into the updated WMP or WindowBlinds in the appropriate file/folder there.

If you like WB 4.6, no one says you have to update. If you're comfortable with it, then go with what works.
All windowblinds, as of this moment, are all pre-WB 5 ready. The WB 5 features are just an added bonus. Not sure about Vista, though.
Also in WB 5, in the configuration window if you select "View My System Information", you can check the box that says "Never use per-pixel borders on a skin".
Hope that helps.

Oh, and anybody who still uses the word "Whilst" should definitely be on the look out for (hungry) looking cavemen......

Thank you for your reply. I have many more anachronistic words available if required and I would be more worried about the cavewomen!
