Maximum size for Hyperpaint?

I have 5.5 beta running on XP with Hyperpaint set to large windows.
However, if I size my windows too big then I get repainting again. If I reduce the size then the moving and resizing is smooth.
Is there a maximum for hyperpaint?

What resolution are you running & what graphics card do you have?
