more programs menu arrow....

Is it possible to change the image or color of the more programs menu arrow. I have tried everything with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

Yes, you can change the image. It's a little tricky to get right, but doable. Download a few skins with skinned more programs menu arrows, load them in SkinStudio & take a look at how it's done. Then give it a go yourself for some fun.

I thought I had a couple of skins that had the more programs arrow changed but, I can't seem to find them. Would you happen to know of any? Thx!

more progs arrow hmm? tooo easy...in skinstudio its found under "explorer, startpanel, startpanelmoreprograms panel, then when you open that, its 'startpanelmoreprogramsarrow' when you recolour or redesign the prog arrow, make sure its a png file so the background is seethrough, otherwise you get an ugly looking background.(unless of course you have a plain background colour, then you can do a bitmapfile)....as for size, ive only ever stuck to the size given, and ive tried to make it bigger, but it seems to stick to the default size, but dont let that deter you, you can create lots of stuff with that space!! have fun and good luck!! and dont forget when you have changed it, click save in skin studio, then go to wb and apply the skin and your new arrow should be there.........

 

oh...ps all my skins have altered prog arrows, so feel free to download and disect it piece by piece..

Kitty- that is not the arrow that is being referred to. It is for the more programs menu item, not the start panel. But thanks anyways.

Thanks Daiwa. But I didn't see in the theme what I am trying to accomplish. I know this can be done because I have done it before. Here is an image of what I an trying to figure out again.

If I remeber right I thought it was one of Kol's skins. I believe Thallos. I opened it up and it was the same ol' arrow. I really do think it was him though. I did this on a remake of Aquanox, and of course PC issues and "poof", file gone.

Maybe one of the programmers from Stardock could jump in here and help. PLEASE!

Hi bleeding edge,

I have checked and made a discovery. That little arrow always matches the colour you choose for the font. on the menu and also in the prog and program files. so if you chose black, the arrows are black, red font, red arrows ect.......hope this helps, and ps, sorry about before when I went on about a completely different arrow!!!
