Windows Searching Torch

Tuesday, September 5, 2006 by cocteau48 | Discussion: New Users

I have been having an enormous amount of fun with Window Blinds/Cursors/Icons/Wallpapers and Log on screens.(I am afraid the Boot Screen programme and my computer just do not like each other and I have given up on that one) but what I would dearly like to change is the Windows Searching Torch. To my mind it is cheap, tacky, looks awful and is generally annoying. Reminds me of an usherette down my local cinema house about thirty years ago.
Can this be changed and if so how?

This is an avi file that is part of shell32.dll (found in Windows\system32 folder) .

Use a program such as ResHacker (available at http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ among other places) to change AVI 150 within that file.

Ok;So I downloaded the ResHacker Prog and the help file.(and read it)
All I need now is help to understand the help file.
Someone with a brighter torch or flashlight or Appalachian lamp cos the help file scared the proverbial **** out of me!!!
