WindowBlinds Vista sneak preview..

First shots

Wednesday, August 30, 2006 by Frogboy | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Windows Vista looks great but no matter how good an operating system looks, there will always be people who want to personalize it beyond what the OS can provide.  The very first skinnable solution for Windows Vista will once again be Stardock WindowBlinds.

Stardock is internally working on a new version of WindowBlinds code-named "WindowBlinds Vista".  This new version takes advantage of many new elements of Windows Vista and allows for existing WindowBlinds skins (and msstyles via SkinStudio) to run on Windows Vista.  WindowBlinds automatically extends existing skins to adapt to the new controls (i.e. most existing skins will not need to be updated to look great on Windows Vista).

Brad, all the shots are great but for one detail, the default Show Desktop icon in your quick launch has to go

I suspect he plunged with the "upgrade" option for that machine, hence the show desktop icon. It's not in the defaults atm.

Looks cool, but I'd be even more interested if you guys figured out how to call the "undocumented" DWM API and create new shader effects (in addition to the "glass" effect) and animations.
