How many of us are left handed here?

are left handed pips more artistic?

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 by homeryulo | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Yesterday was the day for left handers..yes we have our own day..haha. It's a common fact that left handed people tend to be more artistic than right handers. Since this is a community full of artist, just wondering how many of us are included in the left hand group. Just to prove if that theory is correct once and for all. Ciao!

Count me as a lefty!

Considered artistic today, but I believe that centuries ago, our kind were burned at the stake because we were considered evil!!

The right side of the body is controlled by the left side of the brain

The left side of the body is controlled by the right side of the brain
therfore we can conclude
left handed folks are the only people in their right minds.

A lefty here as well...and darn proud of it!

Use to upset teachers in school by writing upside down in spiral notebooks!

I have read that since biblical times, the ratio of left vs. right has always been around 1 in 11, and has never varied much over the thousands of years...enviroment, climate, genetics, race - none of these seem to matter...hhmmmmm.

also those who were left handed in the past were seen as being possessed

and it also became common for left handed children to be forced to become right handed

This is true...I have heard of that many times...never worked on me though...I must have been possessed!

That happened to my father in school since they still used ink nib-pens and if you wrote with your left hand it'd smudge all over the place (also a reason why lefties write with their hand curled over the top of the line being written).

Anyway, he passed his left-edness onto me, so count me in! I write, solder, play racquet sports, pool cue, throw a ball, all left handed, but guitar, cricket, golf, I do righthanded.

With snow/surf/wake boards I stand 'natural' FWIW.

I also meant to say [missed the post-edit time window!] that after my father was forced to learn to write with his right hand, decades later he was still able to simultaneoulsy write with both hands!

He also happened to be able to paint landscapes of above average quality - now that I would've like to have inherited also!

I am also a lefty, but like Chris TH, there are a couple things that I do right-handed. My mom is left-handed and went to a Catholic school where the nuns would smack her left hand with a ruler when she wrote left-handed..lol. Nice to see things have gotten a little better for us over the years

Like Chris Th, I do some things lefty, some righty.

I write, use a fork, hit a softball with my left hand.

I use scissors, play tennis, and play the guitar right handed. I also use my right hand with my mouse.

When my youngest son played high school sports, there was a player who pitched in baseball with his left hand, but as a quarterback, threw the football with his right hand. He was definately possessed!

Write, Draw, and Mouse with my left hand. Everything else I do with the right.

Except for writing, I use my left hand as much as my right. I eat, peel fruit, and do sign language with my left. I play guitar right handed. I can write with my left, but not as well or as fast as with my right. People who use both hands equally or near equally are Ambodextrious and use both sides of their brain. It is said that so do Artists and Musicians!

I *have* a left hand. It's my coffee drinking hand. [Almost] everything else is righty.
